2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Black with a red tint and a thick frothy tan head. Smell of light roast and a faint hint of chilli. Almost no smell. Medium frothy body and some graininess from the carbonation. Taste of rasin, licorish, roast and coffee with slight spiciness on finish. Sort of bland compared to th other Brewdogs. Rather a simple porter with some spicy lingering hints.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours black with a small white head. Nose is not overwhelming. I struggle to get much of anything. What I do get is light scents of chocolate, maybe some coffee and light grassy notes. Weak. The flavor is slightly bitter. More sweet than not and a lot of mettalic notes. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, aftertaste is long.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted this at BrewDog, Glasgow in January 2012. Cask, draft flow system dispense. ruby black in colour with a thin buff head. Strong rich malty aroma with dark chocolate, coffee bean and fruit cake all present. surprisingly thin mouthfeel and poor lacing. Dark complex malts deliver a rich christmas cake base with sultanas, raisins, sour victoria plum and bitter chocolate. Very little in the way of hops detected in the aftertaste. Finish is smooth and very malty with rich mocha coffee, roast grain and liquorice full in the mouth. An excellent porter and highly recommended.

Bottle from Saveur Bière. Dark brown body with slight head. Malty and spicy nose. Nice taste of chocolate in there. Smooth texture. Flavours are malts, caramel, some fruits. The chili is noticeable too. Nice one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (330ml, £4 from Brewdog Edinburgh):
Roasted malts, burnt sugar and grain aroma. Followed by some cocoa and dryed fruit. There is a little chocolate and good spicy notes.
Dark mahogany, almost black. A thumb sized, foamy red to brown coloured head. Retention is okay.
Warming with some strong roasted malts and a rich chocolatey flavour with chilli and other spices. There is a touch of grain and hints of alcohol with a lingering chilli finish.
Medium, smooth feel to it, this porter is very festive and warming. Touch of dryness at the tail end of the drink. It is lightly carbonated with good spicey notes.
A very nice tasting beer and for once I can say this one was worth the money and probably worth trying again. Hopefully this one will be brewed again towards the end of this year, I look forward to trying it again.

AROMA: floral, grass, chocolate, coffee, citrus
APPEARANCE black, brown foam, disappears quickly
TASTE: medium bitter
PALATE: medium body, creamy, lively, astringent, bitter, long finish
OVERALL: quite creamy for a porter, surprisingly fresh for a porter, nice balance of chocolate/coffee to hops---did not get the chilli though.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from Systembolaget, Stockholm, Sweden. Aroma has a lot of roasted notes and coffee. Taste is weird, too bitter for a porter, tastes almost like..grass, really off tasting. Did not enjoy this.
