COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Bottle at home. Pours darker than black with large copper head. Aroma is cocoa, booze, coffee and a bit of caramel. Taste is subtle chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Long finish. Thick mouth-feel but not unpleasant. Kind of short on words but this was a baller of a imperial Russian.

Aspetto: nero impenetrabile schiuma marrone scuro, abbondante, fine e persistente. Aroma: intenso, con sentori soprattutto di cacao, caffè e liquorosi. Gusto: semplicemente spettacolare, sentori come al naso con aggiunta abbondante di liquirizia. Carbonizzazione media, corpo decisamente strutturato. Veramente una grandissima birra! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

17/20 Fairly sensational imperial stout. Mildly carbonated initially tastes like really strong coffee but flavours really open up, with a complex mix of malts, caramel and chocolate. Really strong 10%. One to savour ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle from Doghouse. Thick, inky, viscous black with a lively dark brown head. Bitter, sweet espresso aroma. Taste is very bitter, coffee, alcohol, not much chocolate or vanilla. Tasty

Brewdog at their zenith. Roasty coffee-ey, toasty, boozy, loveliness Massive sweet mouthfeel balanced by dry dry dry toast. F**king fantastic. The cause of more than one necessary hangover

Bottle. 10.0%. Best before 11.09.20. Pours black with a diminishing dark tan/brown head. Bit of lacing. Sweetish, roasted aroma with a fruity note and a creamy overtone. Slightly tart. Light cocoa, barbecue notes as it warms, as well as a hint of wood. Flavour is roasted, with a light barbecue note. Sweetish note as well. A bit vinous. Light spicy note as it warms. Bitter, slightly tart finish with an alcohol burn; though very present, the alcohol is still fairly well—balanced, considering how high the percentage is. Lingering mild bitterness along with hints of hops, grass and wood. Soft palate, almost velvety. Overall pretty good and well-made, but lacks that last complexity to make it outstanding, as the nuances drowns a bit. 06.08.16.

On tap @Brewdog Bar (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a little off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, milk, vanilla, alcohol, coffee. Flavour is a bit unbalanced, too sweet. High body, medium to light carbonation. A bit rough, but ok.

Massiger, malzig vanilliger Antrunk ohne starke Süße. Milde Bitterkeit, die Malzigkeit wird etwas schwächer, trocken nach Bitterschokolade. Angenehm würzig, süffig! 10/11/12/12//12

Pitch black, just the way I like them. Cacao, chocolate and smoke. A nice bitter-sweet taste from the cacao. A bit one-dimensional, but a heavy hitter and a nice Imperial Stout.
