COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Tap at Beer Junction. Glossy black pour. Pretty. Boozy chocolate liquor, some oak. A burnt note, too. Hot. Not bad at all.

On tap at beer junction. Dark pour with medium brown head. Underwhelming aroma but big taste. Robust coffee and dark cocoa flavor dominate. Good mouthfeel. Nice beer. A little strong but would have again.

RIS z dodatkową porcją kawy i kakao. Piwo do degustacji.

Mushy aroma, a bit fruity. Very dark and good color and head. The body is thick and the taste and finish are great, but something is wrong with the aroma. Tap at Brewdog in Helsinki.

Dark brown, foggy, minimal brown head. Aroma has pine, malt, chocolate. Taste has chocolate, hops, citru. Bitter aftertaste, smooth mouthfeel, very easy to drink. Alcohol is very well hidden. An excellent example in its type.

33cl bottle. Deep dark brown colour with a small brown head. Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted, liquorice, alcohol and dates in the aroma. Soft to average carbonation and medium to full body. Taste really bitter at front with dark chocolate notes and a long bitter and dry finish asking for another sip. Overall, a really good beer like a strong digestive.

Aroma: Medium bitter-chocolate. Medium-light spicy, pepper. Appearance: Black body with dark-brown head. Good retention. Lacing. Flavour: Medium-high roasty, lightly burnt. Medium Plums, cherries, bitter chocolate. Medium-high bitterness Light vinous. Dry finish with lingering light chocolate and lightly burnt, flavours. Mouthfeel: Full body. Medium carbonation. Light warming. Overall: Very good beer, but the burnt notes are overpowering in the beginning. The chocolate comes in well after the initial flavours. Complex. 330 ml bottle, poured. 13F. Russian Imperial Stout
