COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Pours like old engine oil, thick and inky black. The head is amazing. The thickest deep brown head ever. It sticks to your finger like chocolate mousse. Some upfront sweet maltiness that lingers through the whole time, eventually balanced by a bitter dark chocolate and charcoal flavour. Fascinating beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oily black, with a dark russet head. Aroma is very fragrant, alcoholic, but still with a hint of leather and olives, indicating the heavily hopped nature of the stout. Flavours of dark chocolate, vanilla and leather. Double expresso too, but not nasty, still controlled by the cocoa bitter-sweetness. Very evident booze, and a rather resinous feel to the palate. I was never a fan of the Brewdog presentation, but this bas-relief label is pretty damn cool!

Jedno z bardziej czekoladowych piw jakie piłem. Płynna czekolada moze nie tak jak w Gorge z Mikkellera ale i tak swietne

0,33L bottle, batch 247 with new lable (from Drink Shop, Tallinn). Pours black with dark brown head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is massive cocoa, vanilla, roast. Flavor is sweet, dark chocolate, vanilla, roast, coffee. Finish is dark chocolate-roast bitter with touch of alcohol. Overall: great brew.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2015 Alluringly complex aroma with a hint of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla in an inky black pour. Flavour is similarly complex and makes for an excellent brew to end a session.

Bottle. Wow this is a beauty! Opaque black with a dark brown dense thick head. The aroma is high roasted with bitter dark chocolate notes. Some grinded coffee bean notes. Thick smooth palate. Very roasted flavor again with the bitter chocolate notes. Light licorice and a good hoppy bite.

Wow! Creamy, almost like oil. Brown foam, quickly disappearing. Middle-full body. Aroma: Liquor, whiskey like smell, vanilla, cocoa, floral, spicy aroma. Taste: Chocolate syrup and chocolate, vanilla, iced coffee (probably specialty malts or cold steeping), slowly advancing bitterness. Long enjoyable, bitter aftertaste. Great balance. I would never guess that there’s 10% alcohol, even it is quietly warming and nice beer. There’s also some spicy and pepper aroma. I guess BrewDog used Willamette as aromatic hop. Quite psychedelic, aromatic chaos, but, it’s still beer, which is great. Will drink again for sure!

Super dark, thick quickly disappearing brown head. Rich and slightly astringent character. Like drinking 85% chocolate. Little sweetness. Can sense its got a high alcohol content.
