keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

A very strong malt and chocolate aroma but it smells like a strong beer. Taste is an initial chocolate and malt

On tap at Max's in the Fell's Point district, Baltimore, MD. Opaque, black-brown with a tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, cocoa, dark fruit and earthy hops. Taste of chocolate, licorice, roasted malt, vanilla, coffee, dark fruit and pine. Medium body and high/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very rich in taste! Chocolate, coffee and a long lasting aftertaste of burnt malt. Hangs on the sides of the glass, looks beautiful.

11.2 oz bottle from Dutch’s. Pours dark brown to black with a small reddish tan head. The aroma and flavor have big chocolate, roasted malts, wood, vanilla, coffee, some hoppy bitterness, but this is about the dark malts, tasty, the abv is well hidden, I would drink this again.

BOTTLE 33CL from ivodoni1. Look: thick oil-like pitch black body with a dark orange-brown head. Aroma: starts almost artificially intense - coffee extract, chocolate liquor, charcoal, a hint of alcohol. Gets more mellow and rounded as it warms up. Taste: again, starts rather over-roasted and bitter, but gains a tad of balancing sweetness as it warms up.

black with quick fading dark brown foam head. Strong coffee aroma, little chocolate. Strong bitter coffee taste, again don’t know where the cocoa in the name comes from, its there, but small. Nevertheless, a real nice beer. (Moscow 201409)

Poors black, virtually no head. Strong smell and taste of the cocoa with a bite. The bite sits on the palate for some time. Good imperial stout but not sure it’s worth the price.

11.2 ounce bottle, Batch 253, best before 22/10/18. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch brown head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like burnt/charred malt, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, and some dark fruit. I like the taste too, it tastes like bittersweet chocolate, burnt/charred malt, coffee, vanilla, molasses, and a bit of dark fruit and licorice. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s creamy and a bit coating with moderate carbonation. I think this is a good bittersweet imperial stout, I wouldn’t mind trying this again in the future. $10.99 a bottle.

Pitch black, tan head. Aroma is full with scents of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, roasted malt. Thick and heavy mouthfeel, the taste of coffee is dominant here. Very intense and very rich, enjoyed this one quite a lot.
