keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Pours a thick dark brown with a dark brown foam. At first it’s like a good RIS. Then it warms. Wow! Eventually it’s like coffee mixed with baking cocoa and a little caramel . Pretty intense. Love it!

Czarne jak cholera, bez jakichkolwiek prześwitów. Piana piękna, brązowa, gęsta i obfita. Aromat kawy i czekolady z dodatkiem czegoś słodkiego, jakby lukrecja.

Bottle from Blacklick Wine & Spirits. Black, thick, oily pour with a thick light brown head. Malty nose with notes of dark fruit, licorice, chocolate, roast, coffee and light vanilla. Vanilla and chocolate flavor with some maltiness before a roasty coffee finish. Very nicely done.

Half from Brew Dog bar, sheffield. Opaque Black beer with dark tan head. Aroma is mostly cocoa, but with coffee and liquorice too. Taste is espresso bitterness and some dark chocolate bitter/sweetness. prickly carbonation, thick body with lots of oil. Good, but couldn’t drink more than one.

Bottle from brewdog brewery Ellon. Pours a jet black with a dark brown head which fades quite quickly. Not much on the aroma side of things which was disappointing. The taste had dark chocolate, deep coffee and burnt bread with some raisin to finish. Hides the % well.

Served on tap at Brewdog Birmingham. Pours a pitch black colour with a lovely dark beige head which lasts well into the drink. Aroma is smooth chocolate with dark fruity notes but of course overpowered with burnt malt. Mouthfeel is perfectly smooth and viscous - enhancing the already rich aroma and taste profile. Definitely one I will try again.

Tap at brewdog Clapham. Teriyaki, grass, soy aroma. Full body, light to medium carbonation. Nice dusty choc, light soy, light teriyaki meatiness, some sweeter milk choc too, booze but it subtle, choc cake... Nice balance. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to mom and brother. Viscous and dark pour. Aroma was good, roasted oats, chalk, booze, cocoa and some dark fruit and cherries. Layered flavor, roasted oats and earthy, some booze and sweetness, with cocoa and cherry notes. Good stuff
