A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

This is a big bad mofo. Black, with a massive cocoa nose. Tastes big and boozy. Bold dark chocolate with Christmas pudding fruits, probably from the coffee. Smooth rich and warming. Good stuff.

Black with diminutive reddish brown head. Nose has tar, licorice, burnt, cocoa, vanilla and wine yeast. Cocoa and coffee, lots of roast malt, chocolate. Bitter with some residual sweetness. Wide body and a long lingering coffeeish after taste. Very good.

33cl bottle, shared on 22-Nov-2015, and poured into a stemmed tulip glass. Dark brown, almost black in colour, with a tan coloured head. Full body and soft to medium carbonation. Flavour heavily dominated with sweet chocolate and cocoa. Light voffee aftertaste. More if a dessert beer.

330ml brown bottle, co-op. Pours black with a thin Ruby rim. Scent is dense smoky and burnt notes. Fantastic. Taste is dense powdery cocoa nibs and light toasted malt. Scent is truly fantastic. Mouth feel is medium dense. Great.

Tap at Watering Hole. Dark, chocolate brown to black with a thin layer of tan that dissipates fairly quickly. Milk chocolate and cacao bomb all over the nose with some espresso, roasted malt and sweet vanilla that stands out as it warms. Full body with a slight creamy well-rounded mouthfeel. Wonderful dessert style imperial stout. Sweet, but not overly so. Nice roasty, dry finish with some light sweetness and more chocolate and coffee. Really nice impy from Brewdog here.

Bottle. Pitch black pour with small dark brown head. Strong aroma of coffee, chocolate, liquorice, smokiness and red fruits. Strong and viscous with huge chcolate and coffee presence and notes of red fruits, liquorice and slight smokiness. Great chocolate and coffee aftertaste.

Keg at Brewdog Shoreditch. Pours pitch black with small mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, brown sugar and some vanilla. Palate is thick and luscious - lots of chocolate on the taste, some coffee and vanilla. Can’t taste the ABV at all. Really good.

10%abv. WOW!! This is probably one of my favourite BrewDog ever! Delicous coffee, dark chocolate and vanilla aroma (tip top!). Thick texture, extremely dark colour and small amount of brown head. Soft carbonation with delicious dark chocolate taste. LightLess alcohol taste for a 10%abv stout. Long finish with nice and tasty chocolate taste! Love it!! Feels like the upgraded version of Alice Porter. Also, happy International Stout Day! :D
