keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Black liquid with really dark head. Rich chocolate, roasted malt, some alcohol, sweet caramel. Medium to full bodied with quite high sweetness and balancing bitterness at the end.

Kaxigt öl som kanske inte riktigt håller vad de lovar. Men helt Ok stout. Tiden har nog gått dem förbi.

Bottle to snifter (split with DrSilverworm). Looks good; a mostly opaque very dark cola with mocha head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, coffee, roast, and oak. Tastes like it smells, but more bitter from the roast. Not much vanilla on the tongue though. Solid on the palate. Good beer.

(Tasting session #4 with Franky) 33 cl. Batch 218. Best before 13-09-18. Pitch black with a large and solid creamy brown head. Aromas of deep dark crushed malts, strong coffee beans, cocoa nibs with hints of vanilla and smoke. Flavors of deep roasted malts, charcoal, bitter chocolate, burnt coffee, leather, wood and oak chips. Mouthfeel is quite vicious, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Strong lasting coffee bitterness finish with some cocoa and some smoke notes. Well crafted hardcore impy stout. Robust but very drinkable.

(Bottle). Full-bodied aroma of liquorice, coffee, hops and some smoke. Great taste that switches between several flavors such as fruit, coffee, licorice, roasted malt and smoke. Much licorice in the finish. Impressive beer!

Pours black with a thick, ruby-brown cream head. Dark chocolate nose, some dark fruits, sturdy roast. Medium to big sweet flavor with moderate dry roast malts, massive baking cocoa, dirt, brownies. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich dark chocolate finish with chalky roast, baking cocoa, burnt earthy bitterness, burnt grass, burnt brownies and dark bread. Also some ash, charred wood. Pretty great stuff, very well balanced. Lingering dark sugars, chocolate, moderate dark and ripe fruits.

DocJitsu (826) - Florida, USA - JUN 28, 2014
Pours an opaque, very dark brown with a short, burnt amberish with espresso foam colored head. Light, smoldering campfire smoky nose. Smooth, full, slick texture. Just wonderful flavors of smoky olive flavor. Black scraped off the griddle. Some chocolate sweetness to balance the smokiness.

Pitch black color, thick like oil, with small but the darkest head I had ever seen. Too bad it disappeared relatively fast. Strong chocolate aroma with some coffee and vanilla. Full body, soft carbonation. Very thick texture, creamy and oily. Taste is sweet but finish is bitter and it goes on and on. This is just insane!

Very dark purple to black with dark brown head. Aromas of roasted malts, alcohol, cocoa and chocolate. Any vanilla is totally overpowered. Taste is more bitter than sweet. Difficult to do anything other than sip it. Palate is thickish, finish astringent. Quite hard work.

Bottle, batch 164 bb 12-07-18. Black, dark brown head. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla/oak nose. Very full chewy body, without getting too heavy though. Hops (orangepeel, pine) and fruity notes cut through. Layered on top are roast, coffee, smoke, vanilla, sweet espresso, fudge, berries, tobacco. all well balanced and drinkable. - Very decadent indeed, bravo!

Wow. Rarely have I had a beer that has such a chocolate aroma. Tastes of coffee and hint of smokiness. Pours black with brown haze.
