A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

33 cl bottle (part of a mix pack). Pours pitch black with nice, creamy dark brown head! Aroma and flavor is full of coffee, chocolate, sultanas and roasted malts. Well-balanced. Lasting stuff! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle from Doghouse. Thick, inky, viscous black with a lively dark brown head. Bitter, sweet espresso aroma. Taste is very bitter, coffee, alcohol, not much chocolate or vanilla. Tasty

Brewdog at their zenith. Roasty coffee-ey, toasty, boozy, loveliness Massive sweet mouthfeel balanced by dry dry dry toast. F**king fantastic. The cause of more than one necessary hangover

Bottle. 10.0%. Best before 11.09.20. Pours black with a diminishing dark tan/brown head. Bit of lacing. Sweetish, roasted aroma with a fruity note and a creamy overtone. Slightly tart. Light cocoa, barbecue notes as it warms, as well as a hint of wood. Flavour is roasted, with a light barbecue note. Sweetish note as well. A bit vinous. Light spicy note as it warms. Bitter, slightly tart finish with an alcohol burn; though very present, the alcohol is still fairly well—balanced, considering how high the percentage is. Lingering mild bitterness along with hints of hops, grass and wood. Soft palate, almost velvety. Overall pretty good and well-made, but lacks that last complexity to make it outstanding, as the nuances drowns a bit. 06.08.16.

On tap @Brewdog Bar (Rome). Pours deep brown/black with a little off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, milk, vanilla, alcohol, coffee. Flavour is a bit unbalanced, too sweet. High body, medium to light carbonation. A bit rough, but ok.

Massiger, malzig vanilliger Antrunk ohne starke Süße. Milde Bitterkeit, die Malzigkeit wird etwas schwächer, trocken nach Bitterschokolade. Angenehm würzig, süffig! 10/11/12/12//12

Pitch black, just the way I like them. Cacao, chocolate and smoke. A nice bitter-sweet taste from the cacao. A bit one-dimensional, but a heavy hitter and a nice Imperial Stout.

jet black beer with big brown head. Aroma: chocolate mixed with porto. Some licorie, vanilla. Reminds of pralines. Very strong. Slightly alcoholy. Taste: strong bitter, slightly alcoholy.A lot of chocolate, cocoa, some sweetness with licorie and vanilla. Palate: medium body as for RIS, low carbonation, oily. Overall: pretty classic european Imperial Stout. Very agressive, tones of chocolate and cocoa as you can expect mixed with alcoholy notes. Very intense.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2016 Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana niska, bardzo ciemna, drobnopęcherzykowa, ładnie zdobi szkło. W aromacie zdecydowanie dominuje intensywna czekolada, kakao, w tle delikatne nuty kawowe.

0.33 bottle.
The beer is black like tar with a small, truly brown head with a crimson tinge. Aroma of smoke, smoked meat, smoked ham, charred wood - generally a lot of smoke. Taste is also smoky, meat, charred woof smoke fish, chocolate - despite the weird descriptions it is sweet and good. A full body, a thick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long, chocolate and coffee are introduced. Overall the beer is great, awesome even - it is characterized by high viscosity and has this terrific texture I have always enjoyed.
