COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Appearance: Black, oil like when poured. Initial 2 finger thick tan head, which quickly reduced down to a thin layer of brown surface bubbles. Aroma: Smoky, roast coffee beans, bitter chocolate, slight vanilla and hint of molasses. Taste: Light sweetness, heavy bitterness (a bit like espresso coffee), and light tartness. Smoky, coffee and hint of chocolate. Palate: Medium body, smooth texture, little to no carbonation, long harsh bitter finish, astringent with warming alcohol kick. Comments: Served in snifter and left glass lace. Very tasty.

Aroma: Espresso, cocoa powder, vanilla, roasted malt and dark chocolate.

Appearance: Jet black body with the darkest brown head I’ve ever seen on a beer. Light lacing marks.

Taste: Incredibly drinkable for 10% ABV. Burnt toast, coffee and chocolate, but more fruity and tangy than the aroma suggests (brambles and prunes). Hint of brown sugar in the taste, but overall is quite bitter.

Palate: Medium body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.

Overall: Rich, well balanced and insanely drinkable.

Bottle. Darkest Brown with a tan head. Burnt malt, smoke and tar on the nose. The chocolate is more apparent on the tongue and there’s a wack of coffee. Bitter and unyielding yet with a sweetness and a warming alcohol. A very rich and full bodied imperial stout which I enjoyed greatly.

Super black color with nice beige foam. Aromas of cocoa and coffee...super strong coffee taste, with a mild and balanced aftertaste. Not so hard to drink for a 10% alc beer. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Pours jet black in colour, foamy dark brown head that diminishes and aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Taste is smokey, woody vanilla, roast malt, sweet chocolate, with cocoa and coffee notes and some spicy bitterness. Creamy mouth feel, full bodied, soft carbonation, warming boozy dry finish. Quite drinkable.

maneliquor (1702) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUN 2, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours jet black with a medium, very dense sinister dark tan head. Nose is heavy dark cocoa. Reminds me of the extremely bitter cocoa powder my dad uses for hot chocolates (some crap thats supposed to be healthy for you or something). Taste is very smooth. Smooth dark chocolate with vanilla undertones and light spice which helps balance everything out. Not too bitter, not too sweet. Very good balance for a 10% beer. Drinks very easily. Creamy mouth feel with lingering bitter sweetness leaving light warmth on the finish. A damn good beer

Bottle. Appearance: slick oily black, comically thick mocha brown head. Aroma: pepper, cocoa, coffee, hint of dark chocolate, metallic, vanilla pod, tons of malt. Flavour: big chocolate and vanilla bang, a little boozy, leather, wood, so rich, flavourful, tons of coffee, sticky as hell, spicy, long chocolate and oak finish.
