A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

When I pored this one it came out motor oil black with a very very dark tan small head. The aroma is coffee and candy sugar. The flavor is bitter dark chocolate and bitter finish. It flows across the palate smooth with a slight tingle of carbonation. Overall a bit too bitter for my taste.

The beer is black like tar with a small, truly brown head with a crimson tinge. Aroma of smoke, smoked meat, smoked ham, charred wood - generally a lot of smoke. Taste is also smoky, meat, charred woof smoke fish, chocolate - despite the weird descriptions it is sweet and good. A full body, a thick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long, chocolate and coffee are introduced. Overall the beer is great, awesome even - it is characterized by high viscosity and has this terrific texture I have always enjoyed.

Tap at Buskers Rome-Italy. Deep black pour, brownish foam leaving a persistent lacing. Nose: bitter cocoa powder, macerated red fruit, spirit. Mouth: clean approach, alcohol middle blast with a spirit like end and a bit tart finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at KŘ16. Good roasted aroma. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour is very roasted and a little sweet. Has a bit of jam and not as much chocolate as expected. Syrupy mouthfeel. Roasted finish.

Bottle at home (batch 098). Pours black with a small tan head. Sweet aroma of dark chocolate, hard roasted malts, coffee, hops. Taste is moderate to heavy bitter, moderate sweet, hard roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, dry finish, long lasting hard roasted chocolaty bitter aftertaste. Not bad, could have been a bit thicker.
