keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

When I pored this one it came out motor oil black with a very very dark tan small head. The aroma is coffee and candy sugar. The flavor is bitter dark chocolate and bitter finish. It flows across the palate smooth with a slight tingle of carbonation. Overall a bit too bitter for my taste.

Appearance has a brown thick head that slowly settles, some lace and an opaque brown black color. aroma is on the mild side with malt Cocoa, hint of molasses and roast. flavor is like aroma very small subtle hints of coffee and good balance between bitter sweet and tang. Perfect body. A velvet Hammer beer with some booze at the very end of the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle at Samo Pivo, Belgrade. Motor oil black pour, nice dark brown head. Not great aroma of soy and off-balsamic. Good base beer but I wonder what barrels could do to help this. Strong, flavor builds, roast and some dark bitter chocolate. Creamy full body, alc is balanced.

Pours rich dark black. Brown coffee head that settles quickly. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasty malts. Tastes very rich, dark chocolate, bitter coffee. An after taste of bitterness - a little too astringent for me. Gonna wait for it to warm up.... Tastes better slightly warmer. Sweetness and maltiness is richer and makes for a more balanced beer. Need to stop chilling all my beers to 2 degrees... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very dark, tan or even brown head. Smells of chocolate and coffee, also hints of dark fruit. Taste was o.k. at first but then got better by each sip. Pretty good beer. It is sweet, chocolaty but not over the top, but also a bit hoppy and bitter aftertaste which I liked. Also heavy roasted coffee. Oily texture.
