COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/ bottle 2012 Prototypes release.
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

When I pored this one it came out motor oil black with a very very dark tan small head. The aroma is coffee and candy sugar. The flavor is bitter dark chocolate and bitter finish. It flows across the palate smooth with a slight tingle of carbonation. Overall a bit too bitter for my taste.

11.2oz bottle, split with b3shine. Best by 22/10/18. Awesome dark brown color. Leaves good, thicker lace. Very nice coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla aromas. Smooth velvety texture. Nice chewiness. Medium to bigger body. Light slick. Good texture, but not quite as thick as other examples. Moderate sweet taste, moderate bitter. ABV well-hidden. Solid tasty stuff.

Bottle I got somewhere from someone, maybe a store. Pours black, looks thick, tan head. Aroma is mix of chocolate, vanilla, roastiness. Taste is very bitter. Mix of roasted coffee and bitter chocolate. Something weird in the taste I am not a huge fan of, just ok I think.

Bottle thanks to Beechner224. Pours a dark black with a huge tan head. First smell is straight chocolate. Maybe hints of vanilla? Taste is thick. It coats my mouth. I can still taste it which isn’t a bad thing. As it warms up it just get more thick and chocolate. But overall very good. I’d drink it more.

Pours jet black. Thick. Dark tan small head. Aroma of soy sauce, dark chocolate, booze. Taste is the same with some oak. Sticky. Wow. Great imperial stout.

Pours pitch black with a very brown head. Pours sludgy thick and mouth feel likewise. Nose of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and dark coffee. Aroma profile likewise. Very good stout.

Kaxigt öl som kanske inte riktigt håller vad de lovar. Men helt Ok stout. Tiden har nog gått dem förbi.

Bottle to snifter (split with DrSilverworm). Looks good; a mostly opaque very dark cola with mocha head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, chocolate, coffee, roast, and oak. Tastes like it smells, but more bitter from the roast. Not much vanilla on the tongue though. Solid on the palate. Good beer.

(Tasting session #4 with Franky) 33 cl. Batch 218. Best before 13-09-18. Pitch black with a large and solid creamy brown head. Aromas of deep dark crushed malts, strong coffee beans, cocoa nibs with hints of vanilla and smoke. Flavors of deep roasted malts, charcoal, bitter chocolate, burnt coffee, leather, wood and oak chips. Mouthfeel is quite vicious, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Strong lasting coffee bitterness finish with some cocoa and some smoke notes. Well crafted hardcore impy stout. Robust but very drinkable.

(Bottle). Full-bodied aroma of liquorice, coffee, hops and some smoke. Great taste that switches between several flavors such as fruit, coffee, licorice, roasted malt and smoke. Much licorice in the finish. Impressive beer!

Pours black with a thick, ruby-brown cream head. Dark chocolate nose, some dark fruits, sturdy roast. Medium to big sweet flavor with moderate dry roast malts, massive baking cocoa, dirt, brownies. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Rich dark chocolate finish with chalky roast, baking cocoa, burnt earthy bitterness, burnt grass, burnt brownies and dark bread. Also some ash, charred wood. Pretty great stuff, very well balanced. Lingering dark sugars, chocolate, moderate dark and ripe fruits.
