Bottled (Danish Beerhouse version): Pitch black coloured. Small dense brown head. Coffee, roast, light liqourice and a light fruit touch in the aroma. Flaovur is heavily roasted. Loads of coffee and burnt flavours. Light liqourice and some cocoa. Medium to full bodied. Roasty burnt bitterness in the end. A bit sharp and edgy.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - dark brown almost black coloured with a poor head retention; aroma of coffee beans and a touch of anise, roasted and gently woody; clean and surprisingly fresh palate, good malt body; fairly bitter and long coffeish finish with warming alcohol notes - a nice one

Bottle from Utobeer. Almost black with a big, tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Espresso, meat and chocolate flavours. Well-hidden alcohol. Highly drinkable.

Bottle 33cl. @ [ Chris O’s pre NYE Tasting ].
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty, wood spunce, vanilla and licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20081230]

A jet black impy with coffee and rosted malt all over. Aroma is simple but delicious with huge amounts off coffee, fruit and burned cereals. The flaovur is along the same lines with some fruit and caramel making it just a bit interesting..

It is black with a red hue and a small, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, licorice and light oak. The flavour has a light sweetness and a light roasted bitterness, and it has notes of dark fruits, roasted malt, coffee/licorice, caramel, wood and the finish is dry with a touch of tannic acid. The flavour has IMO just as much licorice as coffee....

Medium yellow-beige head, deep black-brown beer with ruby reflections. Hops! Hops!! And fresh C-hops... Ah, and warming up, vanilla. Chinese Hoi-Sin sauce with freshly fried ginger - weird!! And - where the heck’s the coffee?? Hops, dark and bitter malts. Slick, but only medium to well-bodied, alcohol showing. I’d be facetious to call it disappointing. But... it is nowhere coffee-like, it tries hard to hide its alcohol - it’s anything but what its label promises. Thanks to Dirk & Leen for sharing!

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Clear dark brown - almost black - with a warm reddish hue and a rough beige head. Distinct aroma of burned malt, coffee and some alcohol. Surprisingly the body is a little thin, very burned malty accents and distinct coffee. Fairly malt bitter finish. 280209
