3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from cvarieuk. Thanks Craig! Bottle #2020. Brewed or bottled on 9/11/08, so it’s one year old now. Very dry, maybe from aging, or maybe it was made that way. Coffee stands out, almost like drinking straight coffee. Alcohol well hidden. Too dry and roasty for me. I prefer sweeter beers with more body.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle courtesy of Ibrew2or3. Pours a dark brown to black color with off-white to tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of light roast, coffee, caramel, earthy nots. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of light roast, caramel, toffee, some hints of earthy esters and ripe dark fruit. Generally medium body with a light floral hop finish. Not really a beer I enjoyed.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured black with a medium beige head. Interesting aroma which had notes of Vanilla, yes of course coffee, damp cherry wood and dark chocolate. Roasted malt flavour with relatively subdued coffee notes balanced with good hop bitterness. Wouldn’t have put this at 9%...no siree.
A nicely poised and tasty stout.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
As the Danish Beerhouse brew in a bottle:
Big, dark brew with a thick and creamy beige head. Very sweet aromas or warmed sugar and light coffee. Not too overpowering as some hops are still recognisable, crisp and fruity. Tickly and complex.
Rich and metallic with heavy dark chocolate flavours. It is a tad too bitter and drying on the tongue due to the classic brewdog hop use (I do enjoy it but it could be slightly more controlled here) making it a little uncomfortable. It has nice, quite delicate, airy hops which pick it out of the opaque abyss it digs for itself.
It is thick and flat which matches it very well keeping it intimidating on the palate.
It is delicious and not too obviously boozy which is often a problem I have with any Imperial Stout. It is quite delicate for this style. Approachable but quite challenging.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black clear body. Creamy brown head with an excellent lace. Complex, yet subtle arome of strong malts, dark fruit, hops, smoke. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Bit sticky/dry flavour. Very nice, not great.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. As BrewDog Danish Beerhouse Coffee Imperial Stout. Tasting at Ekstedt´s place. Thanks to Nisse666?. Black colour with a brown head. Dry, malty, coffee aroma. Dry, woody, coffee flavor, some notes of cocoa and alcohol. No complexity to speak of. Bitter and very dry, actually too dry for my liking. Not very impressed by this one.

Denmark, Aug-Sept 2009. Bottle from Fonefan. Dark brown to lamost black with a reddish hue, tiny head. Very itnense roasted malt aroma with lots of coffee. The roasted malts and coffee beans domiante the taste as well, I can sense a not of pines fro mthe hops. Rather thin bodied.
