12-oz. Thanks, Thewolf! Pours nearly black, with rubied highlights in the corners. Loose tannish filmy head. Complex, interesting nose--a little sting, a little burn, some sweet chocolate. Hard to put into words. Creamy medium body. Rich roasty chocolate with tangy, bright, crisp notes up top. Very difficult to characterize--quite subtle and harmonious.

330ml, dated 9/11/08, bottle courtesy of madmitch76. thanks, ken! pours thin for an imperial stout but sits jet black in the glass with a very thin, bubbly, beige head and very thin rings of lace. aroma is great with dark, slightly charred, roast coffee, burnt malts, and chocolate sauce with hints of ashy oak, vanilla, and light hops. flavor is damn nice as well with dry, roasted coffee, bitter dark chocolate, ash, and light oak by by hints of raisins and tobacco. palate is a bit thin for an imperial stout with light carbonation a dry, ashy, coffee finish. overall, a nice, albeit thin, imperial stout.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lassem (650) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 23, 2008
Bought under the name: BrewDog and Danish Beerhouse Coffee Imperial Stout vith an alc percentage written to 9.5 %. Bottle 33 cl brewed 9/11 2008. Pours a deep clear brown with a thin light-brown head. The nose is nice with lots of sweet notes like vanilla, chocolate and something like the danish dessert-chocolates fra Anthon Berg called Plum in Madeira thereto is something like cherry-liquor. The taste is likewise rather complex with a dominating upfront hoppy bitterness together with a sharp hint of alcohol and something similar to oldschool laqurice-root that I chewed as a kid. The chocolate and coffee is there to but is somehow owerpowered by the bitterness. The finish is long and bitter with coffee notes all the way. The palate is typically for pritish porters and stouts rather thin and waterish - thats ashame...blast it up and let it fill more, the taste deserve a heavy body to back it up.
