A lager that actually tastes of something? You have to be kidding, right? Our lager is made with 100% malt and whole leaf hops. Maybe we are crazy, so what? Taste our lager and we are pretty sure that you will agree that the fine line between insanity and genius has, just become a little more blurred.

Bottle @ chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Pours a pale golden color with a small white head. Has a malty grainy aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweetish fruity and grainy malty flavor. Has a sweetish grainy finish with some hoppy hints.

Bottle, 5.4%. Quite hoppy aroma, a bit rough, hint of butter. Cloudy yellow colour. Very small white head. The flavour is malty and dusty, bordering on papery. Medium bitterness, a little grainy. A bit on the citric side, and tastes a little old, but OK drinkable.

What have I missed here? The commercial description, IMHO, is misleading. This is a good interpretation of industrial swill. Complete with grainy and stale like malt and a murky, low hop / bitterness finish. Touches of Bohem pils here. BB May 2009 so maybe not as fresh as it could have been.

Bottled. The aroma is crisp, fresh hoppy with aprikots. Clear, golden coloured with a white head. The taste is bitter, crisp with the frish hoppiness. Nice

(Bottled) Opaque orange with almost no head. Fruity aroma with lots of blackcurrant. Flavor is also very fruity, with flowery-perfumy, aromatic hops, and mild bitterness. Light to medium body, low carbonation, reasonably refreshing. A quite tasty, steam beer -like (although fresher) lager.

Bottle at the Rake. Hoppy pilsener, rather flowery and perfumed, a bit too much on the rose petal side for me. But, of course, it is miles above most industrial lagers. Crisp finish.

Pours clear golden with a disappearing white head. Aroma of malt and floral hops. Malty flavour and well balanced with a fruity hop bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a malty bitter finish.

Bottle (batch #140) at The Rake, "What company Christmas party?" session, 4th Dec 08. Clear gold, light carbonation. Nose has hints of vanilla, flowers and a bit of the usual lager aromas. Soft fruity and citrus taste. Full, somewhat heavy mouthfeel. The strength is apparent. It certainly achieves its aim of being a very long way from a macrobrewery lager.
