Bottle and keg: Filtered

Ingredients: Spring Blend, Cara and Crystal Malts; Simcoe, Citra and HBC hops.

This Californian Pale Ale packs a huge hoppy punch. A 21st century low amplitude, high voltage hop hit. Some people say slow is good. We believe fast is better. Being shot from a Hoppy Howitzer beats the hell out of trotting round a submissive paddock. That’s why the internal combustion engine got mounted onto two wheels. Screw down the throttle and listen for that dull banshee howl floating back from those malted mufflers. Drink fast, live fast, sleep late and rip it up down empty streets. This pale ale is chopped, tuned and ready to roll. Fuel up and hold tight, this little thoroughbred kicks like a mule. Perfect for drinking by the bottle, case or even keg.

Pours amber orange, with small diminishing head. Sweet hoppy aroma of canned pineapple, mango and grapefruit. Moderate malty. Sweet and bitter taste.

When I ordered this one I did not realize that it was a low alcohol beer. That was too bad. However for such a beer still decent. Watery, but nice hoppy touches.

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2014 Bottle (batch 309) at Magic Beer Room. Golden body with a small white head. Hop-dominated aroma, as expected, slightly dank, piney. Yay! Quite nice little APA, dank, fruity, notes of mint, some caramel? The body ends up being just too light for proper balance, which detracts a little, but I wouldn’t mind having it again - though, realistically, I’ll probably go for their bigger IPAs for a similar price.

Big frothy head. Lots of citrus, both in fragrance and flavor. Hops in excess, not balanced with enough wort or malt. The body is too thin too carry all the hops. An experiment?

On tap at BrewDog Nottingham. Great hop on this one. But balance doesn’t give it an overly bitter finish.

Bottle from Gambrinus. I have to say that the ABV was a little peculiar for Brewdog beer, but they have managed to put a lot of hops and real good taste of beer into this one. Hints of fruits, especially banana and maybe even vanilla but taste was still in balance. Not one of my favourites but worth tasting.
