COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously known as ’Dead Pony Club’.

Bottle and keg: Filtered

Ingredients: Spring Blend, Cara and Crystal Malts; Simcoe, Citra and HBC hops.

This Californian Pale Ale packs a huge hoppy punch. A 21st century low amplitude, high voltage hop hit. Some people say slow is good. We believe fast is better. Being shot from a Hoppy Howitzer beats the hell out of trotting round a submissive paddock. That’s why the internal combustion engine got mounted onto two wheels. Screw down the throttle and listen for that dull banshee howl floating back from those malted mufflers. Drink fast, live fast, sleep late and rip it up down empty streets. This pale ale is chopped, tuned and ready to roll. Fuel up and hold tight, this little thoroughbred kicks like a mule. Perfect for drinking by the bottle, case or even keg.

Geiler Geruch, der Geschmack ist leider zu trocken für die Hopfenmenge. Ein bisschen wie Nanny State.

Sample @ The Rover. Pours tiny hazy golden with a bubbly offwhite head that leaves a small trace on the glass while quickly dissipating. Smell is sweet and vegetal with onions, overripe lemons and grapefruit, soup stock, old bread and hints of bay leaves. Taste is bitter with bread, grapefruit rinds, lemon peal, onions, garlic, soup stock and hints of cabbage. Mouthfeel is crisp, astringent and light bodied. Finish is bitter with grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, onions and bread. I feel something went wrong here, I rather drink freshly squeezed onion juice.

Classic Brewdog drink. Refreshing with floral and citrus notes. Hops are overpowering. A summers drink but there’s better.

Gas vivo.

Bottle 330ml - When aroma of fruits are mentioned never before has anything smelt this overpoweringly fruity. Umbongo wouldn’t even challenge it, but sadly both also are sweet. DPC is nice but is not exceptional, apart from in aroma.

Refreshing and very hoppy ale. It’s clear that Brewdog loves to ad lots of hops to their beers. Fortunately, they used citra hops among others, which provides for a nice fruitiness to counterbalance th bitters.

Lots of white head. Hoppy, magic aroma. Fruity, caramell and malty. Great beer.

Very strong aroma appears the moment you open up a bottle: pines, cool forest herbs, grapefruit, hops. Fizzy, light golden colour with thick yellowish head. Taste of hoppy bitterness, dry but a bit watery in my opinion due to the relatively low alcohol content. Bitterness rolls on the surface of the tongue, followed by some yeast and bread aroma.

330ml brown glass bottle from Sainsbury’s. Very attractive nettle, tropical citric fruits, and rainwater aroma. Mouthfeel is dry, clean, inoffensive, slightly watery. Malt is a little thin, watery and tinny. Hops are flavoursome without being too assertive. I’d like a bit more character, flavour, mouthfeel and sweetness from the malt, but on the whole an agreeable little drink. The flavoursome hops make up for the weaknesses in the malt.
