JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Nov 6, 2009 12oz bottle. Clear reddish amber pour with a medium tan head. Nose of fruit, booze and some dankness. Malty and sugary flavor with a semi-roasty and bitter finish. Not overly impressive, but I like the complexity in flavor. wyzzywyz22 (754), Wirral, Merseyside, England Nov 5, 2009 Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a dense and rich brown colour with a fading muddy cream head. Aroma offered much, caramel malt and a wood tinged whisky hit arrived backed up with some herby hop and summer fruit. Pretty enticing stuff. Initial sweetness in the flavour leading to a big warming alco-hit .Complex and super tasty with all the characteristics of the aroma and more shining bright with a lip smacking hop profile. Very satisfying. stobbe74 (662), Denmark Nov 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark amber beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is sweet and alcohol with some caramel. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is bitter. Overall a good beer. Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 31, 2009 bolttle thanks to bullzeye. Pours light amber with cream head. Aroma of hard candy, sweet malts, hops. Flavor is hops, sugar and crystal malts. Smooth and creamy. I liked this beer. Didn’t taste so much alcohol, which is surprising at 12.5%. Lots of fruit aroma. Small white head. Mid brown coloured very strong in alcohol and fruity with a little dryness in an extremely bitter nutty and chocolaty malt finish.

Hoppy aroma. Amber coloured very strong in alcohol and hoppy with a crisp and bitter malt finish. CapedBrewsader (260), Brasschaat, Belgium Oct 28, 2009 11.2 oz bottle at home: Pours a lightly hazy ruby chestnut with a one finger yellowed-tan creamy head. Rich malty aroma with spiced cake batter and some apple. Some solventy alcohol can be swirled up along with some bitter herbal greenery. Touch of vanilla? Full bodied and silky character on the tongue. Soft CO2 but it still hits the back of the throat with some zing (combo with alcohol?). Malt with some toffee or caramel leads up to a rather bitter herb and hop. From there the alcohol jumps off warming the back of the throat and highlighting a green twig on the back of the tongue. That character grows as the glass empties and starts to get in the way. Overall quite a pleasing beer, more so in the mouth than on the nose. Alcohol a bit too dominant in the aroma.
