3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A big rich beer, consumed 25 months after bottling. Coconut and chocolate in the residual. Chile heat is not as apparent perhaps because of the ageing. Above average mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2015 Brewdog Dog B (thanks Mario!). Poured a murky brown body. Heavy malt aroma, vague, solid raisins, sweet.... Taste... Dry raisins, just a touch hot from, presumably the pepeers... dry, vaguely bitter. Not great. Definitely not great. 6/3/6/4/14
Brewdog Dog C. Fuck... I would not have went for it if I knew they were all aliases. But still... Raisins, malt, bubblegum, fresh.... Heavy malty aroma, raisins, earthy, jammy. roasty. Just a touch too warm, slightly too aggressive alcohol and maybe earthiness. Better than B. 8/3/7/3/14

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle, bottled 17-06-2013. Pitch black appearance with a touch of amber. Small tan head that quickly becomes a ring. Aroma of booze, vanilla, chocolate and liquorice. Dark fruit esters, coffee as well. Taste is rich, chocolate (but not too bitter chocolate), more booze, and a very pleasant chili catch. Finish is warming. Carbonation level and the chili balance is perfect, the booze is a bit too strong. Still an excellent brew. Decanted this becomes more balanced, the alcohol becomes less irritating.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
330 ml bottle as Dog C. Medium aroma with chili, dark fruits and some coffee notes. Black reddish color with minimal white head. In the taste the components of chili somewhat dampens other flavors like licorice, salty licorice and dark fruits. Some chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Balanced with wide/medium taste spectrum. Medium/long aftertaste with chili flavors and licorice. Full/medium body with average/soft carbonation. Overall a high-quality Imperial Stout with chili stealing the show.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml Dog C bottled 20/06/14 from Camperdown cellars
Sinfully black stuff, head is the colour of cola.
Staunch aroma, smells dark! Coffee & chocolate liqueur, christmas pudding, treacle, dried & dark fruits.
Carbonation is low, thick, luscious, almost liqueur like texture, with comparable booziness.
Body is sweet with plenty of treacle, strong brewed coffee, glace fruits, dark chocolate. Lots of booze, big bitterness, still finishes somewhat sweet.
Very serious stuff, probably a bit too boozy.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours an opaque black with a medium sized deep brown head that becomes a thin ring over time and displays really good legs. Aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, chili spice, licorice, sweet caramel, and light coffee notes. Flavour is rich dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, roasted malts, chili spice(or maybe that’s how I’m perceiving the alcohol otherwise the alcohol is not present which is impressive for being over 15 abv), licorice, sweet caramel and light dark fruity esters.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
BrewDog B bottle. Jet black pour with a thin espresso head that fades quick. Aroma is full of dark chocolate. Huge mouth. Taste is full of dark chocolate and a little roasted barley. Hints of chili peppers. A little vanilla and lots of booze. Very complex. No lace. As this warms up, the coffee really rears its head, and it is good. The chili pepper leaves a slight burn on your lips.
