Bottle - Dog B. Batch 142. Bottled on 17-06-2013. Pours dark black with hardly any head. Nose is coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla cream. A trouch of licorice and chili almost comes through. Taste is warm - there’s chili straight away, very little fizz, but theres a few bubbles carrying it across the tongue, with chocolate, a touch of licorice, whisky tastes. I can pull vanilla, raisins and banana out of it. There’s a little chili burn, a little alcohol burn, but it’s drinkable. Sippable actually. Some brewer has been proud to make this one. Now theres some coffee, it’s like drinking a rich irish coffee. Warm. Inviting. So embracing.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2016 Dog C (2016-02-24) Aroma: Medium coffee, dark chocolate. Medium-light alcohol, rose, Fruity, plum, chili, licorice, vanilla, Appearance: Brilliant, black (almost opaque) body with red highlights. Small, light-brown head, low retention. Flavour: Wow! Medium-high tobacco, coffee. Medium dark chocolate, licorice, soy, caramel, vanilla. Fruity, plum. Medium bitterness. Light alcohol, peppery. Light chili. Medium-dry finish with lingering roasty malts, soft alcohol (bourbon) and caramel, vanilla, oak. Mouthfeel: Medium alcohol warmth. Full body, smooth. Medium carbonation. Light chili burn. Overall: A great beer, well balanced, with the special ingredients not overpowering, but just well balanced, enhancing and a new taste or aroma popping out as the beer warms up. Can do with better head retention, but that is nit-picking. 330 ml bottle, poured. Thanks Tanja! 20C. Imperial Stout -------& B (2015-11-25) (2.4/5) Aroma: Medium-high rich, dark malt. Licorice, soy sauce, settles down to bread crusts. Light alcohol Appearance: Black body with red hues. Very small head that dissipates quickly. Flavour: Medium-high soy sauce, bitterness. Medium alcohol. Light berries, cardboard. Dry, harsh alcoholic (near nail polish remover), soy sauce finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-high warming, but not harsh. Medium-light carbonation. Medium-high body. Overall: One sided and very alcoholic. Missing the complexity associated with RIS. It feels like the enamel on your teeth is melting off. Possible oxidation. 330 ml bottle, poured. 30A. Spice, Herb, Vegetable Beer. 13F. Russian Imperial Stout

Finally a Brewdog beer that actually really hits the nail. Sweet and cakey notes with undertones of roastiness and pleasant alcohol. Some sweet dark fruit as well. aromawise it is not overwhelming - a bit boozy - still pretty nice though.

33cl bottle. Deep dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee, roasted, leather, molasses, vanilla and chilli in the aroma. Soft carbonation and full oily body. Taste is bitter but almost sweet with dark chocolate upfront but with some liqueur notes in the long finish. Overall, a very good beer.
