3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Labelled as Dog B. Blackbody, no head. Aroma has paprika sinne alcohol and slick roasted malt with Some cooked veggies. Chili flavour is nicely present, but beer itself is lost somewhere. I always thought that you add chillies to add flavour not to hide them.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2013 Re-rate 12/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at Vova’s place. Thanks Vova. This time as Dog A. Black with a bit of brown foam. Powerful roasty aroma of coffee beans, cocoa and chilli. Roasty bittersweet flavor with cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla notes and a coffee-ish burnt finish with a light chilli hint. Full-bodied. Alcohol is pretty well-hidden for 15.1%. Great. 8/4/8/4/16=4
[10/1/13] Draught at Brewdog Camden in London. As Dog B. Pitch black with a bit of brown foam. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, some alcohol, vanilla, some dark fruits notes, licorice notes and some vegetal chili touches. Roasty and alcoholic flavor with coffee, dark chocolate, some vanilla and a somewhat hot chilly finish. Full-bodied. A bit too alcoholic and hot for me, but still very good. 8/4/7/4/14=3.7

Rated as Dog B. Sample from bottle at the Cask Norway stand at Nærbø, Ølfestivalen 2013. Black body with a ruby mahogany colored edge and a partial light brown rim. Roasted notes, vanilla, oaky sweet liquorice on the nose. Ashy coffee, sweet flavors and light notes of green apples. Full bodied and smooth beer with a light and pleasant chili warmth in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a little sediment and a tiny tan head that leaves virtually no lacing. Aroma and flavour is roasted malt, liquorice, chilli, coffee, vanilla, and chocolate – with a bitter and slightly chilli-esque finish. ABV is well hidden.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dog A: Tons of bitter, dry coffee. Some smoke and roasted, almost burned characters. Nothing more really. A good beer, but I had my hopes higher. Still nice, but a bit one-dimensional. 8, 5, 7, 4, 15
Dog B: Roasted coffee, but still sweeter and more complex than Dog A in my opinion. The spicey chili is clearer in this one I think. This is better than Dog A. 8, 5, 8, 4, 16.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 24.09.2013, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is rich and slightly sweet, dark malts, licorice, chili, dark sugar, coffee, caramel, cocoa, dark fruits. Taste is sweet, dark malts, burnt coffee, chili, licorice, cocoa, alcohol, dark fruits, dark sugar, burnt caramel, grass, ashtray. Longlasting bitterness, slightly dry mouthfeel. Very nice, but further aging will probably do this one good.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle - Cocoa and chili, with hints of dark roast coffee. Jet black with a dark brown ring of head. Chili is very upfront, but balances well with the sweetness of the chocolate and vanilla. Slight bitterness and a long coffee finish. A complex beer that has been balanced beautifully, too bad it costs an arm and a leg.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a night black colour with small rich brown head. Aroma is rich coffee, cocoa and licorice; chili is there too but subtle enough relatively to not overpower. Flavour is very rich with lots of coffee and dark/semi-sweet chocolate, some smoke, licorice and chili pepper. Alcohol is there but without any real burn. Full body. Mellow carbonation. Silky mouthfeel. Very big beer.
