4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
K, Kurvi. Deep brown color, practically no head. Strong, sweet aroma with alcohol and bitter, dark chocolate. The taste follows after the aroma with vanilla and oak. Very full body, very low carbonation. Beautiful.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is vanilla, black licorice, coffee and rich, rich malts. Taste is licorice and coffee right off the bat; not surprisingly there is some warm liquor snap on the tip of the rich almost chewy body. The appearance is black with a thin beige head that retains fairly poorly.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Huge beer- almost confrontational, like its poking you in the ribs for a reaction. Really liked the subtle burn on the back end with the chilies. Lots of chocolate, vanilla and roast. Didnít quite grab me by the shorts, but points for intensity.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle with thanks to _angst_! Pours inky black with a reluctant small dark brown head that dissipates to a ring leaving good lacing. Aroma is deep milk chocolate, coffee, mocha, vanilla, roasted malts. Flavor is similar, hint of anise as well, medium sweet, medium bitter, rich cocoa coffee vanilla, with just a hint of chili burn on the finish; way more subdued on the chili than I expected. Finish is very strong roast, heavy lingering bitterness, some anise. There is some ABV burn, but deceptively little for 15%.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Stiff dark brown, light tan head. Boot in yer face dusty chilli bite. Sticky enough lifted by the spices. Holding up even more vibrantly than I recall. A real drumroll of spice on top of the dense, tanny malt. Finishes sweetly spicy. SPICE.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a viscous black body with a medium brown head with hints of red. The head laces the glass well and itís long-lived. The aroma is intense and... well, so close to perfect that Iím not quite sure why I donít go all the way and give it a 10. Anyway, itís massively malty, roasted and sweet, with absurd amounts of dark caramel, chocolate and pure cacao. In the back there are tempting notes of dark berries and cask wood, with faint traces of something hot and spicy. On the palate itís the same intense experience, again dark caramel and chocolate, and fairly well integrated alcohol. There is a gentle chilli burn throughout, itís very pleasant and subtle, and not tongue numbing at all. Other background elements includes dry coffee and liquorice. The body is full and oily with a soft carbonation. A wonderful, wonderful beer. A bit too alcoholic perhaps, but truly amazing. And AB:04 is supposed to be even better?

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: APR 29, 2015 Anniversary beer, basically their AB04 but with added vanilla and, whatever it is, naga chilli. Yellowish beige head, thin due to the extreme alcohol strength, colour near black, just a bit of chestnut glow under bright light. Very dense, powerful and exciting aroma revealing all kinds of cacao powder, bitter chocolate, black coffee, whisky, cider, cinnamon, pear syrup, peat, tobacco, vanilla, brown sugar and even that chilli. Taste begins assertively with a mouth-filling toasted bitterness, thick oily and powdery mouthfeel weighing heavy on the tongue, profound chocolatey maltiness, lots of spicy tones reminiscent of sweet tobacco, pepper and again that chilli, lots of dark fruits, finishing with a great deal of leafy hop bitterness, very very long, accompanied by an equally long warming alcohol reminiscent of coffee liqueur and cognac. Brewdog has flabbergastered me more than once but this is so far the most impressive thing I ever tasted from them - I would even go as far to say that this is one of the best beers I ever had.
