Bottle shared by Karol, many thanks! Tasted along with AB:12 and I must say, this beer delivered a blast and won clearly. Aroma smoke, chocolate, very rich, coffee. Light fruity. Colour pitch black with dark brown head. Taste incredibly strong and rich, fresh roasted coffee. Light smoky, very light spicy/chilli. Real pleasure to drink. Finish is spicy, coffee, roasted, light smoked ham. Dry, lightly ashy. Never thought of alcohol with this one. Great beer.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo enjoyed at home
Pours jet black with a brown head. Smells of roasted malts, coffee, some vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet, roast and toast, coffee, hints of chili, just that little nice sting there. Almost heavy bitter finish, some hops. A very nice imperial stout. A thick sticky malty soup with some chili. A wonderful beer; maybe a bit heavy on the alcohol but this is a real treat! More of this please

Absolute great coffee and dark chocolate taste. Too bad this beer has for me a dominate alcohol smell and taste. But no wonder at 15% abv

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
pitch black pour producing 2 inches of a dark tanned head, creamy and lasting. aroma is intense, heavy sweet with some alcohol, loads of roasted malts and bitter coffee, and the chilli is also evident. Taste is first towards cocoa then via leather and tar to a complex, sweet and liquoricy aftertaste with just a light burn from the chilli. Body is full, mouthfeel slick with medium carbonation.

Appearance: Black color with a beige head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Rich chocolate and dark malt.
Palate: Thick oily body. A bit sweet, light spicy and some bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Rich chocolate. Light fruity, coffee and spicy. Dry texture. Well hidden alcohol.
Overall impression: Let it roll around your mouth for a while and you will definitely feel the chilli. Rare with a nice complexity.
