Goodgrief (1147), Middletown, Delaware, USA Nov 10, 2009 "Thanks" to eaglefan538 for sharing...even though I’m starting to wonder why he keeps "making" me drink these weirdly spiced beers. This one had a really funky nutty flavor...must have been the kola not. Lots of honey, but really anything else going on was a mere sideshow for the kola nuts. I’m not a fan of kola nuts. nimbleprop (822), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 10, 2009 Sampled on tap at Churchkey DC. Another weird one from those Scots. Pours a translucent orange with a white head that faded fast. Aroma mostly spices, some faint sweetness, some grass. Flavor was more faint sweetness, a touch boozy, some weird tropical fruits and spice. Finish was a little medicinal and boozy. Weird and a bit of a miss. Slightly hazy amber color, small white head, Sweet grassy, honeyish and caramelly nose, a bit harsh, like in some bulk lagers. Caramelly, grassy hoppy, slighlty alcoholic. Like drinking aged and harsh East European malt liquer. Guarana? Where? eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Nov 9, 2009 Bottle from SL as Dogma, and I’ll tell ya what: I’m either picking the wrong BD brews to drink, or just am not impressed with the hype. Poured an orange color with some red hues, weak to moderate head. The aroma was funky heather, caramel, musty, bready, fruity. The flavor followed, but those "other" ingredients made this a train wreck: kola nut and guarana perhaps? Let’s just put it this way: I’d prefer to not eat or drink another product with either in it. Wet musty nuts with an off flavor is the best way to describe this thing, musty, basementy, honey, earthy, etc.... Could have been a bit more carbonated too. baggio (195), norrtälje, Sweden Nov 8, 2009 bottle@home
