Brewed with ten different types of malt, and blended together with Scottish heather honey, it is a pantheon to the gods of intricacy and nuance; a beer that celebrates a confluence of ideas. History is written by the victors, and Dogma is Scotch Ale triumphant; evolved.
Complex, indulgent and encapsulating, Dogma gives more than a cursory nod to history, to make you ponder the very nature of beer itself.

An almost black beer with a beautiful, dense, medium and beige head. The nose is very sweet at the beginning, but it’s also much more, caramell, some roastiness, honey, herbs and red berries, hint of heather. Taste is toffeeish malty with lots of raisins, nice roastiness, herbal hops dries. Overally, quite sweet, as toffee and raisins promises, but the taste is not too sweet. Medium+ bodied, not heavy. Quite sweet, but still rich of nuancess.

Pours dark brown. Head reduces to nothing and looks like a coke. It’s honey wood aroma. Sweet chocolate earth taste. Slight alcohol taste. It has balance but with only slight bitterness. Not bad

Location: Bottle from Central Market, 8/27/13, Batch 120, Best Before 1/21/14

Aroma: The nose has some licorice, dark fruit, honey, plenty of roasted malt, and some chocolate
Appearance: It pours a brown-black color with a small beige-brown head and mild, spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-plus sweet up-front, with lots of roast and some mild bitterness later
Palate: The body is fairly full, it is a bit sticky, with a fairly soft carbonation, and a lengthy duration
Overall Impression: This one is fairly sweet, but still pretty solid. There’s a decent amount of balance among the malts, but there isn’t much bitterness at all here. Overall, this beer is interesting, and worth trying, but it isn’t something I’d want to drink all that often.
