COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The truth. You don’t want to hear the truth. The truth’s no longer out there bubba. Just chicken ass lies. Become a Dogma Disciple. Believe in the birds and the bees. Act crazy, be heavily armed at all times and scream in German.

Dogma is an indulgent, decadent and encapsulating scotch ale brewed with 10 different types of malt all blended together with Scottish heather honey. Soak up the sweet nectar like a jackrabbit on heat.

This beer is not cool. You may think it is, but that is just a beautiful lie fabricated by clowns and gypsies.

Dark brown/mahogany colour, beige and shortlasting head, little traces of lace, medium to low carbonation. The aroma is sweet liquorice, plums, roasted malts, raisins and rhum. Very sweet, with very hidden hops, tastes like liquor, honey, burnt sugar and hints of coffee. Great overall, though slightly unbalanced. Very tasty, liked a lot.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2014 33cl bottle from ceveteca bar in Lisbon. It pours a brownish black colour with a pretty decent beige head that doesn’t last for long. Aroma is whiskey, roasted and caramel malts, licorice, soy sauce, raisins and other dark fruits, oaks, some dark chocolate and some coffee. Taste is very sweet, roasted malts, brown sugar, toffee, dark fruits, some coffee and vanilla, oaks, some honey and alcohol warmth. It has a light body, low carbonation and a dry finish. Very nice Scotch Ale, but just a little bit too sweet for my taste.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Best before 2013-05-24. Batch 166. It poured a black colour with about a centimeters high light brown foamy head that settled down fast. Aroma is earthy with notes of ripe red fruits, alcohol, oak and dark roasted malts. Faint honey notes. Flavour is smooth. First impressions is oak and alcohol, but dark malts show up after a short while. Liqorice. Some red fruits. No honey. Aftertaste is rather short. Considering I tasted this about 18 months after the best before date had passed the beer was still very nice.

Bomber pours out a nice dark, muddy brown, small skin of a beige head. Mild nutty, earthy aroma, hint of savory spice. Taste comes in with slightly sweet malts, light warmth and tingling at the back of the throat. Lingering spicy palate.

On tap at wvrst. Mild smoke aroma. Very dark brown body with wisp of head. A tad of peat and significant smoke yet well balanced. Good for style and good drinkability.

Bottle from the hive. Dark tan, very little head. Curranty, pudding nose, definitely scotch ale. Fruity caramel and raisin taste. Some liquorice and underlying honey. Sweet and dry finish. Fine.

If I were to make a blind test, I would say it’s bock. Dark brown color. Fine and intensive aroma of plums, malts and honey. Alcohol is well covered.
