Previous sold as Speed Ball.
A strong ale, brewed with guarana, Californian poppy, kola nut and Scottish heather honey. A conspiracy of trans-continental ingredients infused with some devastatingly BrewDog imaginative thinking.

Bottle at BrewDog Nottingham. Almost black with a slight red tint. Aroma of dark chocolate, malts and Marmite with a certain smokiness. Texture like wine - thin and smooth. Long bitter finish. Dangerously drinkable.

Bottle from systembolaget. Spicy smell with a chemical note that dissapeared after a while. Sweet malty taste with spices, I think I can sense the honey but I can’t place the other spices. Drinkable, but I didn’t enjoy the smell.

Koyo (249) - SWEDEN - MAR 8, 2012
Bottle from Systembolaget, Stockholm, Sweden. Aroma is very sweet, very pleasant with some tropical fruit mixed in with the honey. Pours a nice dark amber, slightly reddish with a thick foam. Taste is sweet with a medium bitterness, extremely well balanced and feels thick on the palate. This is a great beer to drink while being all relaxed, just sitting there, sipping it, I really enjoyed it.

Lätt metallisk och jag finner toner av pumpa, mangostan och honung i doften. God spännande smak. Trevlig kropp. Markant beska och lång eftersmak.

Clear Trocdero brownish color, yellow head. Weak malty and honey scent. Sweet, citrus, bitter taste. Moussy mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

The nose has some honey sweetness with a spice, boozy, yeasty, fruitiness. The taste is slightly sweet and malty up front, there’s a nice lingering spicy hop profile that lingers on through the finish keeping it balanced. Honey is only faintly noticed and there is definitely a nuttiness. Not sure exactly what to make this beer, it’s very flavorful but muddled. Not sure if it’s the hops or combination of the unique ingredients being used.
