Sept, 2010. Bree Louise, on the Welcome Pub Crawl. Dark, dry, light and clean. Decent body. A drinkable beer.

Cask at Southampton Arms ages ago. Gutted that this has been retired as I drank it before I started rating. So, apologies for the vague rating, it is all done from memory. Was a fantastic beer with much more taste than you might expect for the ABV. Hope they make it again some time.

Bridge Bar,Belfast for Wetherspoon November 2010 beer fest. Dark beer with plenty of roast flavour for such a low ABV, also fairly hoppy so not a true mild.

Sampled this in Tennents Bar, Glasgow in September 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Ruby black in colour with a thick creamy buff head that looks solid enough to stand on. Smokey birch wood comes through in the intense and long lasting peaty aroma. Thick double cream mouthfeel and superb lacing. Dark malt complexes ooze rich flavours of bitter chocolate, mocha coffee, black treacle and maple syrup. Sweet and moreish. A slight prickle of hop resins in the short aftertaste but dry chicory note comes through in the nutty hazelnut texture. Robust dry vanilla oak notes are present in the smooth smokey finish. A superb Scottish mild that is packed full of flavour and tastes far stronger than the low abv suggests. Highly recommended.

Cask at the Euston Tap, June 2011. Very dark brown, creamy beige head. Lots of flavour for a low ABV. Malty depth with peppery and dry hops to balance. Too bitter for a mild, perhaps, but I am not complaining.

Cask @ O’Hara’s, Tampere.
Pours a black colour with a very small head on the edges. Aroma of roasted malts, syrup and some grass. Flavour of smoked roasted malts, syrup, dried fruits, flowers and some bitter English hops. Light bodied with a light bitter finish. Easy and tasty.

Dark nutty brown color, creamy brownish head. Nutty caramelly nose. Light to medium bodied. Light toasted malty flavor, some caramel, light hops. Easy going, light beer but with lots of flavor. Excellent session beer.

On tap at The Piccadilly. Pours a dark brown/cola, with a small beige head. Aromas of toffee, citrus, orange rind, slight roast and a piney hop. Taste was burnt toffee, medium malt, piney hop and was quite bitter.
