bottle and keg, special

If we could sum up Everyday Anarchy in one sentence, it would probably be “it doesn’t have to make sense.”
Take everything you were expecting about this beer, and file it under I for Irrelevant. This French white wine barrel aged imperial saison has a plethora of intertwining aromas and flavours.
Malts: Extra Pale Cara Wheat Rye
Hops: Motueka Saaz Bobek
Twist: White wine barrel aged for 355 days On the nose, there’s raisin, caramel, sherry notes, apricot, plum; a fruit punch explosion from your glass, mixed with the presence of some sophisticated alcoholic aromas.
On the palate, there’s a running battle for dominance between bitter, sweet and sour. Peach melba, redcurrant, sour plum, spice, syrup, chewy toffee; the list goes on.
Everyday Anarchy is glorious insanity. Take the time to delve into its twisted charm, and you’ll be rewarded.

Really interesting aroma, the white wine comes through, with hazelnuts and red fruit . The taste isn’t quite as powerful, the wine dominates the finish, it is very drinkable for its abv, but was expecting more.

33cl bottle at home from Only Good Beer, Budapest. Body is slightly opalescent rose amber, head is very small, white, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Nose is rose hips, flavor is berry, tutti-frutti, wild yeast, spices, some wine. Medium to heavy sweet, medium sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity sweet-sour, hint of hoppy bitterness, medium alcohol warmth, later more wineish. Full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite easy, tasty, not my style but very interesting.

Bottle (33cl) from Vinmonopolet (Storo), Oslo. Finger-thick short-lived offwhite head, settles as a ring and thin islets. Rusty red/golden (strawberry juice) colour. Powerful sweet & sour aroma of boozy fermented fruit (raisin and strawberry in particular), medium dry sherry, and solvents. Full body, soft carbonation, vinous mouthfeel. Taste is mostly sweet, fruity and boozy, with a surrounding background acidity that provides good balance. Acidity becomes dominant towards the finish, and an oxidized white wine element comes forward. Impressive.

Bottle. Amber body nearly no white head. My 1000th rate cool. As old fart and old punk rocker I have chosen this one. Aroma is dried fruits mostly plums some sour fruits with caramel also some alcohol and hints of almonds. Taste is not as intense as the aroma caramel malts with some sourness and wood some wine. Aftertaste is some salt with caramel and malts and some bitterness in the background. Very nice one a cross between a barly wine and a saison.

smells like coconut, port and oak barrels, dark mahogany colour no head or lacing, taste of coconut, port, tobacco and slightly vinegary with a rather unacceptable alcohol burn. otherwise it would have been excellent.

BOTTLE. Poured reddish ruby with minimal white head. Sweet sherry and berries on the nose, slight booze... Taste is a complete blend of cherry ripe, sweet fruit, fortified wine & warm alcohol, with out being actually to boozy... Not my style but worth trying. Sourced Cape Cellars
