330 ml bottle from Aldi. Typical pilsner colour. I get a sweetness from the aroma but the taste is quite bitter, more than it needs to be. Not that good really.

Bottle, hazy orange-yellow, low white head. Hayish and grassy nose, some herbal and salty play. Medium light body, sparkly, fruity base, a bit bread, grassy and light citric hop notes, earthy bittering hops in the exit. Nice enough but lacks moreishness somehow.

Bottle, nice head dark yellow colour. Does remind me of the czech lagers, but doesn’t bring me the same pleasure as the tap lagers I had in Czech Republic

BrewDog 77 Lager is by far the beer I’ve been drinking most frequently the past couple of years. It’s reasonably priced, it’s available in my local grocery store and my wife likes it as well. Could 77 Lager be in danger of being dethroned my Fake Lager? Let’s see! It pours a BrewDog-ish slightly hazy body, it has a medium yellow to amber colour with a small white, long-lived head that laces the glass well. The aroma is... disappointing. It’s not unpleasant, but its pretty faint, and frankly quite boring. Some fruity notes, caramel and traces of malt extract. The moderate to faint flavour is a bit more interesting, I get caramel, pale malts and fruity stuff with grapefruit plus a floral touch. The taste is light to moderate sweet and light bitter. Light-bodied and dry with a fairly lively carbonation. Clean and boring. Why on earth would anyone buy this when there’s 77 Lager?

straw aroma in the bottle. nice big billowing head. Pretty carbonic in the mouth with crunchy qualities before more straw. lacks distinction, cleanliness & sophistication

Tap at BrewDog Edinburgh. Pours clear bronce with a little head. Aroma displays the usual characteristics of a Czech pilsner: it is grainy and has herbal and slightly grassy elements. Taste is dryish and malty, although some hoppiness appears too. The palate is light to medium bodied, slick. Very drinkable lager but not much "fake" in it.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, almost cloudy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Bready malty aroma with hints of caramel and biscuity sweetness, combined with herbal and delicately floral hoppy notes. Mildly sweet and bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly bready cara-malty base with present herbal hoppy notes, moderately dry and bitter finish. Nice but not world-shaking. 25.IV.14
