Say hello to Ghost Deer. A defiant and irreverent, devil may care, supersonic bitch of a beer. Ghost Deer is a 28% fermented beer, the strongest ever fermented beer which is only ever served from a single handcrafted and authentic deer’s head.

The beer itself is a robust 28% blonde ale. After fermentation it is aged for 6 months in some amazing whisky, bourbon, rum and sherry barrels. There is only one Ghost Deer head and this beer will only ever be available on draft, served in a stemmed glass, direct from the mouth of the deer himself.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 Bottle (2 oz.)... This beer rocks!... Pours clear and deep amber with no head. The aroma is a complex and bold blitz of port, molasses, dark honey and maple syrup. Full-bodied with only the dawn of carbonation. Bold and boozy, the flavor boasts sweet maple syrup, dark dried-fruits and tawny port. Finishes surprisingly smooth with afterthoughts of maple, dark honey, light molasses and ethanol. I thought this would suck. I was wrong. Complex, world-class beer, courtesy of biggsbowler!

Bottle @ koelschtrinker Tasting: Leicht trübes orangegoldenes Bier, kein Schaum. Geruch sehr alkoholiscih, Kleber, süß malzig, Dörrobst. Geschmack zunächst sehr mild nach Vanille, dann alkoholisch, holzig, brennend, im Abgang auch brennend alkoholisch.

Kaum karbonisierter, sehr spritiger Antrunk. Wenig Aromen, eher wie ein guter Brand. Minimal malzig, zum Ende hin noch etwas alkoholischer. Interessant. 7/9/5/9/12/8

You know that you’ve turned into a beer ticking geek when you share a 6cl (yes 6cl) bottle with 5 other guys. This is what happened on 23rd Aug 2014 at the Midlands meeting. My 1cl was lovely, I like sweet strong brews so this was just right for me. A novelty beer really I suppose, glad I’ve had a sip but not sure I should be pontificating about a beer I’ve had so little of: just a tick really. Scored highly because I can.

Bottle @ Midlands Bottle Share, very kindly shared by Rich. Pours deep amber with a sweet boozy aroma. Taste continues sweet with warming alcohol, candi sugar and perhaps the slightest hint of rum & caramel. Quite nice, just wish I had a full bottle myself for a proper taste.
