This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

330 ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber with and off-white head. Intense hoppy aroma of citric fruits along with lightly roasted malt. Full body with low carbonation. The taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with manifold flavors of overripe fruits, peach, pomelo and malty notes (caramel) accompanied with noticeable alcohol and a long lasting pretty bitter finish. Very nice beer.

Hazy amber red color with some decent activity. A weak brownish creamy head that last for 5 minutes and doesn’t produce much legs. The smell is piney and buttery. The flavors are strong orange peels with a little pine and some strong hoppy spices. The body feels full and slick with prickly carbonation. The finish is boozy with low freshness, highly bitter, and some peppercorn. Ending with a very strong puckering citrus attack. Overall the craft is average but true to it’s name = hardcore. Not accessible at all, only for those who like heavy IBU and chewing on an orange peel. I find the flavors off and unbalanced, poorly presented, and nothing pleasing.

Bottle. Cloudy dark orange with light beige foamy head, orange peel aroma, initially sweet orange peel taste that gets bitter soon, alcohol undertones, low carbonation, thin body, long bitter finish with alcohol aftertaste. A bit too sweet.

Bottle. Tried as Mr President which was a bit misleading.Bronze with a small head. Strong presence of alcohol from the start. Not a lot of hops appear to be present which was a bit disappointing. This brewery has set the bar high for its products. This one is good but not as good as I expected.

Une bonne double IPA. Les aromes de fruits exotiques perçus au nez sont également présents en bouche. Un de ses avantages principaux c’est d’être très bien diffusée et donc aussi dans des bars qui commercialisent peu ou pas de double IPA.

14/20 Strong hops, caramel, grapefruit and some bitterness. 9.2% powerful but smooth. Taste maybe slightly too bitter and it's head blowingly strong but nice stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

MR. PRESIDENT : Piwo lekko metne w kolorze ciemny bursztyn z ladna lekko kremowa grubopecherzykowa piana. W aromacie bardzo intensywnie chmielone, kwiatowe, owoce cytrusowe, ananas i ziolowosc. Aromat na tyle silny ze chcialo mi sie kichac po pierwszym zanurzeniu nosa w szkle. W smaku karmel, intensywna goryczka i slody. Smakuje prawie jak ABW. Ciezkie polpelne cialo z bogatym aromatem chmielowym i dosc wytrawnym finiszem. Juz chyba kultowe piwo w swoim stylu.

As Mr President. Pretty good-for-the-money us style double ipa. As was their tescos finest American double ipa (no longer available? If so, coincidence?). Big nose of toffee and grapefruit and marmalade. More grapefruit, apricot and malt in the mouth. Robust but not as hard-hitting-yet-classy as stone double b*****d ale, for example.

Appearance: dark orange\amber. I couldn’t get much head from it. Nose: aromas of caramel, orange and hops. Palate: a bit of orange\citrus, a lot of caramel\toffee and a fairly bitter floral hoppy aftertaste. The alcohol is well hidden and balanced. Price Paid: £2 reduced.
