This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Bottle, from Tesco. Deep gold, fluffy and sustained off white head and gentle condition. Big citrusy hop nose with hints of grapefruit and pineapple, some marzipan sweetness and a little herbal spiciness. Some orange peel notes emerge as it warms. Big, sweet and greasy in the mouth with hints of parma violets, floral hops and sticky malt, restrained hop bitterness bubbles away under the surface, occasionaly giving a touch of oily hop resin, finish is quite restrained with a lingering but muted hop bitterness, balanced by a sweet orange maltiness and smidgen of retronasal alcohol

Pours an orange brown clear colour with foamy white head. Arome instantly of pine, resin, mango, apricots and a slightly grassy/herbal note, very nice. Taste has a noticable malt cramel sweetness, leading in to a crisp bitter and dry lingering finish. Noticable light carbonation and slick oily texture. Overall a very decent Double IPA! Yum!

Pours golden amber with white soapy lacing head. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, pine and resin along with caramel. Taste is nicely balaced strong bitter and astringent with thick sweetness neither of which are over powering. Thick and oily and slick but refreshing carbonation. Lovely beer!

Bottle. Clear light copper to orange color with off white small firm head. Intense sweet citrusy aroma. Full body, oily texture, low carbonation. Balance towards sweetness. Strong bitterness appears only in finish and lingers long in aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear, slightly dark orange with a good sized off white head. Aroma of mango, malts and pine. Taste is bitter with some nice malty/caramel notes. Doesn’t taste as strong as the 9.2% would suggest.

Maltier than I expected but balanced with a good hop jot and has that unmistakable brew dog taste. Boozy, brash and grown up. Happy birthday!

Golden strong IPA. Lots of hops, extreme bitter but very drinkable. TOuches of caramel and very light sweetness gives it a good balance. Very long lasting taste in mouth

I bought this bottle at amstein in St-Légier. It is a strong IPA. The body is copper-orange and troubled. The taste is powerful, malt, sweetness, some caramel and hop. The sensation is staying a long time in the tongue, good.
