Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Caramalt; Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe hops. Dry Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe. IBU 150
This little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 6 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. This explicit ale has more hops and bitterness that any other beer brewed in the UK. This is an extreme beer rollercoaster for freaks, gypsies and international chess superstars.

Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Pours a nice red amber colour with a nice citrus and fruity aroma. Full body with great caramel presence and a strong bitter taste from the first till the last drop. A great IPA from the UK using mainly american hops.

A nice, hoppy, amber colored beer. Medium body with a grassy, alocohol aroma. A bit of citrus, some caramel and pine taste. Tried with Olivier and Dave at the Paas in the Hague.

Abio (1130) - Waasland, BELGIUM - APR 7, 2012
Amber coloured beer, with a nice big and decent holding head. Grassy, citrus, slightly caramel. More sweetness then expected at the taste, siropy mouthfeel, not bad at all, but not totally what I was looking for. A bit to hard boost.

Lovely amber colour with a nice tan head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Sweet fruity and hoppy flavour. Lots of grape in this one. Very well hidden alcohol.

Clearorangey amber hue. Predominant crystal malt aroma, enticing piney hop. Touches of crystal and caramel malt flavor, surrounded by a nice pineapple citrussy bitterness and spice. One excellent double ipa

Overpowering aroma with sharp hops and lots of malty sugars. Grapefruit and floral hops attack you first and then a cascade of sweet notes follows: honey, molasses, and a bit of funk that I find rather disagreeable and almost ruins an otherwise great nose. The mouthfeel is full, with a medium-to-thick body and medium carbonation. Sweet notes in the taste help smooth over the full-blown assault on your tongue that is this beer. It doesn’t seem like 150 IBUs, though. The aftertaste is bitter, sweet and almost tart. If it were more balanced, it would be an excellent double IPA.

Aroma: Very syrupy. You can instantly feel its potency, both in alcoohol and hops. Crazy fruity aromas, like strawberries, pineapple, grapefruit, orange marmalade etc. Also a carameley maltiness is present in the background. Mouthfeel: Medium and oily. Taste: Severely bitter and very fruity (see aroma). A certain creamy flavor (strawberry tart?). Just a bit of sweetness underlying. Heavenly stuff. Finish: Long, long bitter finish with syrupy, tropical fruit notes. Overall: Top beer. Not overwhelming, despite its strength and bitterness. That’s my kind of stuff.

190111: Not as violent hop aroma as you might think. But a nice rounded flavor with good sweetness and bitterness. Very nice hoppy beer,
