This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

11.2oz bottle. Hazy unfiltered orange-amber body. Thin oily head that laces the glass. Pretty unimpressive IIPA, very old school, resinous in taste, but is rather smooth and forgiving on the palate...remains drinkable. Reminiscent of 90 Minute IPA at times, but less complex. Anndiesel notes "It smells like hairspray". Relatively fresh bottle for the US, but not so impressive for late 2013.

J’adore !

(Bottle): Pours a deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is huge fruity, hoppy notes - grapefruit, mandarin, oranges and peaches. Some caramel sweetness and a touch of alcohol too. Flavour is a burst of fruits, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, lemon, peach. Theres a faint background of caramel and malt which gives a little bit of balance from the big punching bitter hop flavours. A touch of alcohol on the finish but very, very well hidden. Lovely stuff!

Butelka 0.3L Lekko opalizujace, miedzianoczerwone z jasnozolta, srednioobfita piana. W smaku wyczuwalny rowniez alkohol, ktory lekko przeszkadza. Pelne piwo ze spora slodycza mocno skontrowana potezna chmielowa grefpfrutowa goryczka. Niezle IIPA, gdyby bylo mniej karmelu i wyczuwalnego alkoholu bylaby genialne piwo. Bardzo gorzkie :)

Pours a cloudy toward murky amber with a thin off-white ring of head. A vigorous swirl gets it up to about a finger or so, settling to leave some fine splotches of lace. Nose involves prominent tropical fruit, citrus, resin, toffee and caramel, peaches and apricots, some bread dough. Pretty sweet flavor, decently bitter. Fuller body, softer carb, sticky and oily, a touch grainy, with a lengthy herbal fruity bitter finish. Digging the aromatics and flavor, but the palate is somewhat lacking and it isn’t much to look at. Best by 7-30-14, and it’s way before that, but it seems like its aged a bit. Decent, but not spectacular.

This is a beast. It’s a clear brown-orange colour with an off white head. Expect a 2 finger head at maximum. To the nose it is fruity and a slight tree-bark smell. To the tongue it packs an initial bitterness followed by a dark fruity taste, then back comes the bitterness mixed with that fruit again. There is then a slight taste of the alcohol as you would expect with a 9.2% abv.

Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with small off-white head, orangey even. Aroma is hops, floral and citrusy with honey and alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet at first, then powerful hoppy grapefruit kick, hint of salt. Full body and soft carbonation. Long bitter finish, nice and warming. Very enjoyable beer.

tmoreau (3429) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 8, 2013
12 oz. bottle poured to a snifter at Bigby’s Pour House in Addison, IL., displaying a murky, amber color with a modest, but persistent layer of off white, bubbly froth to the head, and ribbony cling to the lacing. The aroma was lightly floral, a touch of dankness, with sharp pine & grapefruit notes. The flavor offered strong hop bitterness that was earthy, rindy, and lingering, citrusy astringency, with some mineral hints, a touch of caramel sweetness, and decent, hop tempering malt. A lot going on to worry about the alcohol, which was ever present, but not boozy.
