3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nice vast 2 finger darker beige foamy head on top of a deep darker orange to a red colored beer.
Smell hops, flowers, citrus, fruit, grapefruit, cactus, light toasted malts, hint of alcohol, spices and a hint of cream.
Taste is a well balanced mix of hops, bitter, citrus, fruit, grapefruit, malts, grass, spices, sweets and a hint of yeast.
Very long bitter aftertaste with hints of spices, light dry and grass. Donít taste the alcohol that easy as it is present in the smell.
Low carbo, medium to full body and a silky and right after light tingly on the tongue.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I really enjoyed this beer. Poured a dark orange tan, frothy head that lingered quite a while. Beautiful aroma of dark hops, malt, and pears before they have been sliced open. Flavor was strong in hops malt and barley. Go try one.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A bit hazy golden-orange color, big cloudy off-white head. Sticky, berryish, hoppy juicy and resiny aroma. Berrysih, sweet, pineapple fruity, resiny, hoppy-alcoholic flavor. Quite sticky palate (my fingers were sticky too after drinking this). Much too sweet and alcoholic. Somewhat one-dimensional and harsh too.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Over all a very substantial DIPA maybe just a tad heavy on the alcohol but otherwise nice to look at and great on the palate and it will get an occasional place in the rotation.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour from a bottle which I was stoked to find in Ketchum Idaho. Hazy murky orange gold color. Pleasant citrus on the nose. Medium body without being syrupy. Good balance of sweet maltiness and bitter hops. Nothing exceptional about the hop flavor or unique but tasty nonetheless. Liked it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy dark orange pour with a little off white-slightly orange head. Aroma of some overripe fruits, mainly orange, a hint of cantelope, and some leafy green hops, with a bit of buttered croissant. Superb aroma. Taste is bittersweet, but mostly bitter. Aggressively hoped with floral hops taking the lead charge down the palate. Burnt toast malt replaces the croissant, but it still kinda works next to the bitterness. Somewhat uncomplex, but is so well made that it doesnít harm the overall enjoyment much. Just a straight up, or "hardcore" DIPA with a big flavor.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: Deep amber colour, medium dirty white head, lacing.
Aroma: Tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit, resin, candy, malts, alcohol, perfume, citric, lemon, pine.
Flavour: big bite, bit fruity, big malt base, alcohol, the finish is a bit unbalanced and keeps this from a top mark
Mouthfeel: sharp bubbles.
Total: Much better than 1st edt!

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2011 One of my favorite Imperial IPAs. Not quite the perfectly balanced, wonderfully floral nose of Pliny the Elder... but the depth of flavor, and slightly sweet, grapefruit twist in the finish more than makes up for that. The alcohol is well disguised, and the added sugars do not make for a dull, one note added sweetness. This is an IPA with a rich bouquet of citrusy flavors.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Cask at Gallows Real Ale Festival 2011 and draught at Pikkulintu) The beer poured reddish brown and almost clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts and hops - hop aroma was more intense in the keg version mainly because of higher carbonation. Palate was full bodied and warming. Flavours were hops, malts, sweetness, fruitiness, mildly saltiness and not too intense bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. I didnít like the first edition but this one was good.

Bottle 330ml batch#423 at home. Pours a lovely, clear copper with decent amount of creamy off-white head. Aroma is pine, citrus, caramel toffee, Taste starts off light bitter, but quickly hits with force. Properly bitter, very slightly sweet. Light to medium body, light oily, average to lively carbonation.
