This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Ámbar dorado y claro, espuma blanca, persistente y perfecta.

Surprisingly balanced DIPA, insofar as the style permits. That is to say -- a very high degree of hoppy bitterness (following quite nice IPA citrus notes on the nose), but not so much as to cross the border into silliness. Solid and good. B. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark amber body with a minimal white head. Aroma is pine, slightly cat piss, frutiy and aromatic. Taste is worse than expected: too hoppy and unbalanced. Bitter finish

Sedan flytten till nya bryggeriet har jag inte druckit en enda bra öl från brewdog. Så även denna gång. Börjar ge upp hoppet om det här, en gång i tiden, fantastiska bryggeri.

11/21/2010: BrewDog Hardcore IPA (Explicit Imperial Ale)... Aroma: Toffee. Appearance: Murky, tarnished golden color; crackle top beige crown. Flavor: Toffe and leafy resiny hops; earthy and fruity-like. Palate: Medium to medium-full body; thick, yet oily, chewy. Overall: Quite a mouthful!

Bottle. Very strong aroma with hops, citruses and pineapple notes, also some litchi and tangerines. Pours clear dark amber liquid with slightly tanned, minimal head. Taste is a little bit sweet but immediately goes brutally bitter. Full body with creamy texture and lively carbonation. Ends with long dry finnish, full of hops. Very pleasant and refreshing beer, almost ideal imperial IPA for me.

On tap. Pours a pale hazy orange body, with an average white head that stays until I finish my glass. Very floral and tropical aroma. Heavy bitter taste on this one, blown away, a little harsh though. Medium carbonated, oily texture, medium bodied. A nice treat for sure, if not a little harsh on the flavour.

Quite sweet initially from the caramel malts followed by a good bitter orange/citrus base of hops. Overall very smooth. Very good but I think I prefer their single IPA (such as Dead Pony Club) as the citrusy hops come through more strongly.
