This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But donít feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell.
2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic.
4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more.
9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks.
2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

This is a wonderful beer. Smells super citrusy, with lots of fruitiness and floral hops. Pours red with a good head, lacing. Taste has lots of florals and a little bitterness and alcohol, though the high alcohol hides a lot of the bitterness. Itís a pretty original beer, heavy on the fruit-like aromas and tastes without being excessively bitter on the aftertaste. Even my girlfriend liked this one, and she usually hates IPAs. Bottle at The Rhino.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2012 Bottle - Crazy grapefruit hop bomb with some malts peeking through with sweetness. Clear amber with medium dissipating head. Bitterness and alcohol are prevelant along with the citrus hops. Unbalanced but wonderfully so.

Caramel brown with light, creamy, beige head / Mellow nose of caramel, brown sugar, grain, and citrus / Medium to full body, chewy and malty, moderately sweet, with excellent hop balance and bitter, hot finish / Flavors of caramel, grapefruit, pine, and dry hops / A little overly hot and astringent, but still darn good.

A-- Poured an orange carmel color. Dirty eggshell white one finger head. No real visible carbonation after original pour. A little bit of head retention on swirl and noticeable legs from the ABV. S-- Caramelized orange mixed with lemon, pine and grapefruit. The Caramelized orange smell stands out in a big way. T-- Pine and grapefruit taste. Not massive or over the top, but enough to say hello. M-- Lots and lots of grapefruit in the mouth. Just touches of pine menthol in the background. Very bitter and ripe grapefruit. Not that much carmel sweetness in the mouth though. Very fruit forward. Lower medium carbonation. D-- Very drinkable and pretty well made.

Big, malty imperial IPA! Very cloudy, light-brown body w large white head. Nearing bottle date, so lacking some aroma, but still a nice earthy, floral aroma. Body is medium. Very full-flavored, biscuity-malt flavor. Bitterness appears a little low for this style. Need to try a fresher, less "handled" example, but still a good beer.

At first smell out of the bottle this is a citrus malty beer. Then when you taste it there is a distinct malt taste that is almost unique. There ate deffinatley a lot of hops and it has a citrus taste. I smell honey but donít taste it and it is a foggy golden kinda golden orange color. I would definitely say this is an IPA but not hardcore but a slight bitter finish although I really like it. Definitely recommend this beer.

Bottle..poured into pint glass. Havenít tried this in a while and I agree with others that this simply is outclassed by many other quality doubles these days. Very sweet almost overpowering. The abv is easily noticed. Bottle I had was served a little too cold, would be interested to see how this warms up?

A wonderful ale and IPA. Brewdog has done it again. An odor sensation like no other. Very fruity flavor, but perhaps a bit low after taste though. No one who hangs around at the end of the tongue. But I love this beer yet. Had it only been more to taste I would have given this beer honors. But this beer, I will buy many more times. Recommend this strong!
