4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
[cask, Cloisters, Edinburgh] Rare appearance on cask for Hardcore IPA so a swift half was called for. Of course, you canít drink Hardcore in a swift manner, the walloping hops see to that. Deep orange colour with minimal lacing. Heavy citric bitterness, sweet caramel and vanilla all kick off at the same time on the palate. Burning alcohol punch on the finish. A lot, but sometimes a lot is what you want

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, batch 2E5 or 285 (the print is smudged). Pours hazy and dark orange with red highlights, topped by a small off-white head. Aromas of sweet spruce needles and pine sap, mango, sugar cookie, caramel, and a hint of vanilla. The flavor is bitter pine, ripe mango and slight papaya, sweet spruce and fruit notes, and caramel. As it warms, citrus peel becomes evident, with nearly salty notes. Medium carbonation, almost creamy, and highly drinkable. Pleasantly bitter with some nice tropical fruit notes throughout; very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl bottle of Tesco Finest American Double IPA. Copper with a thin covering of cream coloured head; definitely orange peel on the aroma, along with grassy hops; crisp fruity malt flavour that holds for a second or two before the hops sweep majestically in to place; long lingering fresh leafy hop finish, and some warming alcohol. Excellent.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Small white head, amber colour. Aroma of citrus, floral notes, grapefruit and spices. Strong, bitter, and complex flavour, citrus, spices and... I donít know. Medium body, medium carbonisation. A nice beer but it could be better balanced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from Bevmo. Deep copper in color. Foamy beige head. Nice crisp clean hop nose. Lots of hops up front. A little bit of sweetness, but just a touch. Fairly dry grapefruity hop flavors with a little bit of spiciness. Finish has a touch of alcohol. Very tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz. bottle, pours orange amber with a white head. Big aroma of citrus, pungent hops, floral notes and grapefruit. Flavour is a tremendously potent and bitter barrage of citrusy hops with very little malt backing. At 150IBUs, this is a bitter beast. Eclipses the first edition of Hardcore IPA for sure.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2012 330ml bottle from Brewdog, but Iíve also had this on cask at Cask & Kitchen and Keg at Brewdog Aberdeen. Pours orange-amber, well carbonated with a good off-white head. Nose; Epic! Floral, varnish, dried figs and some citrus fruits. Taste; hop-explosion, varnish, wood, resin, slight vanilla, well hidden- alcohol, long bitter finish, yum! One of my favourite beers, more please.
