This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell.
2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic.
4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more.
9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks.
2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

33 cl bottle. Batch #220, BBE 18.06.2012
Pours dark orange colour with a small head. Aroma is grassy hops, caramel, exotic fruits and some toffee. Flavour is orange peel, sweet caramel, some exotic fruits and notes of toffee. Palate is very bitter with a dry finish. Full-bodied and complex. A good example of IIPA style.

Pours a dark turbid amber, small off white head. Pine resin aroma. Huge alpha acid flavor right off the bat along with pine, citrus, and some caramelized malt. This beer has a nice bitter finish that lingers on for a while.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2011 Great aroma that is filled with lychee, mango and some pine. Taste is very balanced and blood grape, mango and pine are very present in the mouth. This is one of the better Brewdog beers.

11.2 oz bottle, best before 16-09-11. Foggy orange brown with a creamy off-white head. Nose is caramel, cat and dough with fleeting hints of citrus. With the first sip the sweetness in the aroma gives way to a jolt of hop oil. Medium to full body, almost syrupy, with enough fizz to lighten it up. Taste is cane sugar, grapefruit peel, a touch of vodka and soft pine. A little heavy handed.

Bottle. This is my second time having this, for added perspective. Pours dark burnt orange with fluffy off-white head that never goes away. Nose is BIG citrus and pine, huge caramel malt backbone. Tastes of orange, salted grapefruit, explosive hops, more caramel in the foreground. Incredibly long, heavy finish. A perfectly integrated, yet bracing IPA. Lovely.

Grima (2078) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - AUG 6, 2011
The beer is a bright amber-colored with a thin, high creamy head. The smell is hoppy, bitter, very spicy, with lots of citrus. The IPA starts very hoppy and fruity, citrus comes through a lot, paired with fantastic aroma hops. The middle part shows very herbal, with lots of citrus and lots of aroma hops. Very hoppy aftertaste, with hints of mint flavor.

Pours a hazy cloudy orange-amber, with a medium beige head, fine clinging lacing. Thick aroma of bread, grass, grapefruit, toffee, with some berry, floral and spicy notes, very malty. Full body, crisp, smooth and velvety, dry. Medium initial sweetness, short citrus tartness midpalate with some alcohol hotness, then a medium bitter lingering finish. A mighty brew.

The aroma is a lovely mix of bread, caramel, citrus hops, fruit. The appearance is the common amber, white head. The flavor is a lot like the aroma, bread, caramel, fruit, citrs, light pine. Certainly a malt forward beer. Medium to medium thick in body, sticky mouthfeel. Nice finish of citrus and pine hops, lingering. A bit overhyped and overpriced, but an excellent beer.

Had this the last day before the BBD. Hazy amber. The aroma is honeyed and florals with tropical fruit accents. Pretty rich, chewy caramel stuf with light lychee-type hop notes. Ok, for style.
