This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell.
2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic.
4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more.
9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks.
2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Toffee och blomster samt (över-)mogen citrus anas. Fyllig och bestämd. Balansen är perfekt, eftersmaken lång. God och nästintill ett mästerverk.

Pours orangey brown with orange highlights and a moderate off-white foam. Already LOOKS better than the old label version. Aroma of grapefruit, plums, orange flavored cake, burnt caramel, slight dank plants, and brown sugar. Very "American Strong Ale" with deeper hops that are less up front than something like "Hoptimum." Flavor beings with the caramel, brown sugar and toasty earth merging with bitter grapefruit, wood, dark fruit and faint citrus hops. Finishes with a faint trace of caramel and doughy malt being washed out by grapefruit and orange fruitiness, but again with a certain darkness about them that’s very opposite of fresh hop ales. Palate-wise, this has been a joy to drink. No heat, creamy, thick mouthfeel, well-married flavors, and spot-on carbonation. I can’t believe I waited this long to try the new label version, but I always thought the bottles were a bit old. Thankfully this bottle hadn’t expired yet!

330ml bottle. Hazy orange with a golden-tinged head. Immediate waft of pine and citrus, but the aroma falls a bit short of my expectations. Things continue that way: apart from the finish there doesn’t seem much that grabs me. Seems like a fairly well constructed double IPA, but perhaps I’d enjoy a fresher bottle more.

Draft @ CML Fontainas // touch above ½ a pint // clear caramel amber with a slightly off-white head (hint of coffee with cream) // smell is decent DIPA fare pine hops, mango & exotic fruits with a touch of caramel malt sweetness underneath // taste is very heavy sweet upfront particularly for this style, caramel blended with burned sugar & cough syrup, toffee, sweeet malt heavy, touch liquorish, after a while the sweetness persists but you also get a floral bitterness in the back // body is sticky, gooey & caramel, medium carb. // kind of was expecting / hoping for something that had hops in it you know … the cough syrup & caramel,… don’t know … seems like they really overdid the malts // hardcore in a way though // liked the glass though

A really okay IPA - not fantastic, but not bad. Good choice if you have nothing better to drink.

draft @ Moeder Lambic Fontainas. This beer rocks.

33 cl bottle - Pours bright dark orange with a medium sticky head - creamy colour. Nose is warm and caramel, some ripe peach, hint of honey and nutmeg. Full body with nice creamy mouthfeel - nicely bitter from beginning to end; slight peppery and spicy finish.

21/11 0.33 l bottle, thanks ogivlado for sharing! It poured hazy, darker orange body with medium sized head. Orange and other citrus aroma, mixed with well present note of caramel and dried fruits, maybe even chocolate. Sweetish note was even better pronounced in its flavor, going to the finish. Hops are here as well, of course, but at the end are overwhelmed by chocolate. Full bodied, very pleasant brew. Good job on this one.
