This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But donít feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Another one from Tesco but in disguise. Maybe Tesco should disguise themselves to avoid being seen as a corporate monster destroying independent traders as they please. Maybe I should wear my recently acquired wig and fake beard to disguise my hypocrisy. So, hardcore...Bad Brains, Beastie Boys, Minor Threat/Fugazi, bit of Black Flag and thatís about it for me. I love melody. This has melody. Tra la la da de dah.

A nice IIPA. Not too bitter despite the high IBU. Good mouthfeel, and a nice balance of malt and hops. An excellent big brother to Punk IPA.

Pours straw/orange with a foamy head and decent lacing. Aroma is floral hops and pine. Taste is resinous hops, pine, and bitter fruit. Drinks pretty well but not sure if itís worth $14 a 4-pack.

Bottle. Hazy reddish light copper color with a thin head. Fruity aroma of hops and some mandarine. Sweet sugary taste including nuts. Too sweet for me.

Nephilium (1571) - Ohio, USA - OCT 18, 2012
This starts of with an aroma of caramel, pine, and a touch of alcohol. Pours a slightly cloudy amber, with a huge white head. The flavor is a very bold bitter taste, with very little sweetness coming through. Long lingering bitter finish. Very big and over the top hops, with very little balance. Not bad, but not as good as some of the other IIPAís out there.

cmonster (998) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 17, 2012
Pours murky, dark amber with a short head. Decent lace. Caramel malt and and earthy, resiny hop nose. Same type of palate. A little fruit, toffee, and dough as well. Med-full body, thick texture, good carbonation, and a long heavy, bitter finish. Malt forward, yet hoppy. Very well done.

The brewdog regulars are getting worse day by day, however good quality and price balance.

Aroma is pine, spices and mildly sweet/nutty malts. The flavor is citrus, grapefruit, mildly nutty malts and a tart/fruit finish.
