Aroma of grape, citrus, orange peel like, hint of liquorish, some caramel and quite fruity as well. Medium to full bodied that was quite carbonated and had a dry texture. Strong bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering bitter dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
deep amber colour, nicely medium hazy liquid, pours a cloudy even head; good looking. aromascape is full; fruit, citrus, banana, caramel, herbs come together very interestingly, escorted by earthy tones with bread, leaves and wood. before going to the taste, i have to mention the palate first since it is so noticeable. the body is rather watery with a dry texture. this sort of let me down compared to the full aromas. carbonation is too sharp with attack and feel, not allowing the taste to take full action. the palate is really not adding or complementing anything, rather taking away from those great aromas. it does not even manage to do a very good job being balanced either. you get a very basic light bitter taste with a hint of sweetness rolling around. the sourness quickly takes over here with a long aftertaste, resulting it having a rather big slice of the taste cake.. feels like they are not working together but rather struggling to understand each other. double IPAs are known for their great texture and balance, and this felt like a rebel messing around, but still having good elements to it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Spicy toffee aroma with plenty of pine and a little strawberry, apricot, scotch tape, and faint banana. Cloudy red-orange under a thin, yellow-tan cover. Salty and sweet toffee flavour with some strawberry and a slightly medicinal character. Quite bitter, but not harsh. Warming with some lasting bitterness in the finish. moderate carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle. Note: I did not notice at the time I purchased this brew, but it had already expired by a month or so and then by a few weeks more by the time I drank it. It had not turned but might not be representative of a fresher bottle. Appearance was a hazy orange/brown with moderate off-white head. Aroma started with grapefruit hops with some pine resin and a bit of a soapy smell. Bitterness held up well for the taste, with some herbal notes and sweet caramel as well. Mouthfeel is a little sticky, but the body is a little lighter than Iíd have expected. Low carbo. Overall, sweeter and stickier than Iíd expect, but that might be the result of an out of date bottle.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma: Dark chocolate and toffee. Slight notes of orange and banana.
Appearance: Deep amber, hazy. Thick tan head. Virtually no carbonation. Lots of lacing.
Taste: As with the aroma, a bitter dark chocolate taste. Some citrus flavours.
Palate: Oily mouthfeel. Very bitter, lasting finish. Surprisingly light for the ABV.
Overall: I still prefer the Punk IPA for its more tropical fruit notes, but this sure packs a punch.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
From notes: Poured hazy orange-amber with a thick, light tan head that left moderate lacing on the glass. Aroma was of citrusy and piney hops. Medium-bodied, with a slight thickness. Flavor strongly of citrus hops, with perhaps some pine notes as well. Straightforward hoppy IPA done well.
