This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell.
2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic.
4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more.
9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks.
2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Tap and bottle in The Rake. Aroma smashes you with what seems like simcoe to me, very piney, tangerine, bit citrusy hit, underlying toffee malt, but its all about the hops. Taste is similar, but seems to keep it all balanced, its not too sweet or bitter, its just an intence rush of flavour on the tougne which melts together nicely. Good long finish. Extremly easy to drink for the %. Good show!

Cor ambar, de espuma cor creme com boa persistencia. Aroma forte de frutas e maracujá. Dulçor inicial, seguido de amargor forte e persistente, mas que não agride o paladar.

Pourd at a perfect temperature with a thick cream colored long-lasting head lots of Lace and a clear honey amber color. Aroma is malt Caramel, little more resin then grapefruit and a bit of weed. Flavor is extremely bittersweet with enough carbonic tang to balance. Great body. Boozy in the finish. Killer sipping beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Strong and delicate aroma. Bitterness that will last from the first sip till the aftertaste. Good pick for an IPA.

Pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Well balanced between malts and hops. Smooth flavor, but not as hoppy as you might expect from an imperial IPA.

This bottle has expired, but a nice beer anyway. Very bitter and not as nice as the 5 am Saint.

Love this beer. Pours hazy orange like any good IPA. Aroma is sweet, malty and hoppy. Taste is sweet malt, then hops and bitterness. It's definitely not anywhere near 150 IBU as advertised. Jackhammer is a lot more bitter. Mmmm. Tasty tasty beer. And strong! Yum. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Small off white head. Deep amber body. Spotty lacings inside mug. Powerful scents of resin, citric hops, lemon, roasted malts, resin’ish malts. Tastes resin hops, lemon hops, resin juicy malts, roasted malts, ash - warmth comes to palate, the body is powerful, carbonation soft. Long warm finish with resin, ashy roasted malts, lemon hops oil. Overall probably what one may expect from an imperial/dbl-IPA. [33cl brown bottle , 9.2%ab, BB231214]

On tap half-pint in the Birmingham outlet on 17th Sep 2014. Poured a hazy dark orange with an off white head that gave some thin lacing. Aroma of a large fruit basket with caramel and honey notes. Taste was very like the nose: grapefruit, oranges and a sweet malty backbone. Bitter finish with a pine hop feel. Hides the alcohol well.

Drank 21-9-2014 with Masum. Light brown color with a little foam. Bitter IPA smell. Taste is also extremely bitter. Beer is thick for IPA standards. Cocao hints as well. Okay beer, but still too bitter.

Bottle. The hero of all the Spaks, Superspak says, " 11.2 ounce bottle into tulip, best before 7-26-11. Pours hazy dark red-orange color with a huge 3 finger off white head with fantastic retention that eventually reduces to a thin lacing. Aromas of huge pineapple, mango, orange, and pine; with caramel and a some honey. Very nice an balanced aromas, a bit different than I am used to in a DIPA though. Taste of big grapefruit, orange, pine, and spices on the front; with big caramel sweetness afterward. Nice strong bitterness on the finish that lingers for a while with caramel, citrus and pine flavor. Very well balanced bitterness and sweetness with the sweetness being a bit more prominent. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied. No alcohol noticed on taste or finish. Overall a very good and unique imperial IPA."
