This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But donít feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Pours a deep dark orangish amber color. Aromas of big hop action, sweet malts, and more hops. Flavor has some bready maltsy tastes with nice grapefruit and floral hop taste. This is one hoppy sumbitch. These guys sure know what they are doing.

Pours a nice golden brown colour with a small white foamy head. The aroma is a strong floral/citrus which is very appealing. A sharp bitter hops taste on the palate.

Big citrus hops aroma. Pours cloudy orange with an off-white quick dissipating head. Tastes of apricot and alcohol with a sticky mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Long sour finish. A lot going on here. Iím not sure it all works well together.

Tap @BrewDog Bristol. Small white head, dark amber colour, clear, fair lacing. String aroma of grain, also little citrus. Lightly sweet taste with long bitter finish, full body, average carbonation. Heavy and hoppy - great!

Only launched in last week or so, so this is fresh. Great spicy grapefruit hop finish, with a sherbet hint. Very well balanced, and not as sweet as the previous Tesco brew, so either this is an improved recipe, or just the benefit of drinking it fresh.

Great aroma, hops meet malty alcohol . Initial sweetness gives way to a cleansing hop kick. This bottle is very young, and gives a great marmalade aroma and flavour. Re rated, from a bottle that was two months past its" best before date" , been stored in my beer cellar, this has now got a barley wine like complexity on the aroma, but still has great marmalade hops in the flavour. Delicious

Bottle from Tesco. Pours gold/amber, very little head. Floral and fruity nose. Nice full mouthfeel. Bitter start with a smooth finish. Candied peel, oranges, a bit of a boozy hit. Really like this. If this is a revamped Tesco finest dipa then itís a good improvement and tbh I think itís better than hardcore.

Bottle, from Tesco. Deep gold, fluffy and sustained off white head and gentle condition. Big citrusy hop nose with hints of grapefruit and pineapple, some marzipan sweetness and a little herbal spiciness. Some orange peel notes emerge as it warms. Big, sweet and greasy in the mouth with hints of parma violets, floral hops and sticky malt, restrained hop bitterness bubbles away under the surface, occasionaly giving a touch of oily hop resin, finish is quite restrained with a lingering but muted hop bitterness, balanced by a sweet orange maltiness and smidgen of retronasal alcohol

Pours an orange brown clear colour with foamy white head. Arome instantly of pine, resin, mango, apricots and a slightly grassy/herbal note, very nice. Taste has a noticable malt cramel sweetness, leading in to a crisp bitter and dry lingering finish. Noticable light carbonation and slick oily texture. Overall a very decent Double IPA! Yum!

Pours golden amber with white soapy lacing head. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, pine and resin along with caramel. Taste is nicely balaced strong bitter and astringent with thick sweetness neither of which are over powering. Thick and oily and slick but refreshing carbonation. Lovely beer!

Bottle. Clear light copper to orange color with off white small firm head. Intense sweet citrusy aroma. Full body, oily texture, low carbonation. Balance towards sweetness. Strong bitterness appears only in finish and lingers long in aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear, slightly dark orange with a good sized off white head. Aroma of mango, malts and pine. Taste is bitter with some nice malty/caramel notes. Doesnít taste as strong as the 9.2% would suggest.
