Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Caramalt; Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe hops. Dry Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe. IBU 150
This little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 6 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. This explicit ale has more hops and bitterness that any other beer brewed in the UK. This is an extreme beer rollercoaster for freaks, gypsies and international chess superstars.

Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Color ámbar oscuro, espuma marfil densa y generosa. Aromas afrutados, lupulo y ligeramente alcohol. En boca entra dulce, azúcar tostado, y acaba con un amargor ansiado equilibrado y muy agradable. En general, muy recomendable.

Nice floral arrangement to the nose as it is poured from a bottle (batch 184). Cloudy amber orange with thin tan head. Settles quickly. The taste is unique, subtle at the start, then fills the tongue with a full and robust hop flavor that finishes unique. Not sure which hop finishes, but boy do I like the lingering after taste. Its smooth and I highly recommend returning to this Imperial IPA. Suspect this is the brewery that led to the Esquire channel Brew Dogs series (the hosts are from Scotland).

Bottle from Tesco. Pours amber with a cream head. Big pine hop flavour with some sticky sweetness to begin with before a very nice bitter finish. Some good underlying smooth caramel as well. A very nice beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose has a fair amount of hops to it, but they seem stale and past their prime, so not all that inviting. This allows the maltiness to be a bit more salient, as I can get a bit of bread in there. Taste is fairly bitter, but again seems very unfresh. This is the exact problem I have with so many imported IPAs...

Tsekouratos (116) - Nea Filadelfeia, Athens, GREECE - APR 22, 2014
On tap at The Local Pub, Athens Greece. Golden copper color, clear, with a nice white head. Aromas of flowers, pine, grass. Tastes like a freshly cut field. Pine grass and flowers up in your face. Vitter and semi-dry semi-sticky aftertaste. Low to medium body with low carbonation.

Big sticky piney hops. Plenty of sweet malt overpowered by the hops. Orange rind, mild tropical, hint of earth. Big body. Long bitter finish without being overpowering. Great beer. This would be waaay to malty if it wasn’t cranked up at 150 ibu. Very nice

Pours dark amber with off white head. Malty, caramel, herbal grassy aroma. Strong bitterness. Just a little too harsh for me.

Bottle 0,33. Flat white head with almost none lacing. Clearly and dark orange or even amber colour. Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Type of hops is deffinietly floral, grassy and herbal. First mouthfull is sweet caramel but also huge bitterness - after that unpleasant alcoholic aftertaste. Hmm and not much more, maybe a little bit of licorice - but maybe I’m exaggerating. Just ordinary, essential and very strong Imperial IPA. Little disappointment.
