COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered. Cask: Unfiltered.
Also sold as Tesco Finest American Double IPA
Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Caramalt; Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe hops. Dry Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe. IBU 150
This little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 6 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. This explicit ale has more hops and bitterness that any other beer brewed in the UK. This is an extreme beer rollercoaster for freaks, gypsies and international chess superstars.

Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Amber-cooper clear colour, with small light brown head, that goes in a perfect lacing. Very intensive aroma of exotic fruits like grapefruit and mango, dry fruits, caramel malts. Oily, heavy bitter. Alcohol is present, but not cruical. Beer for my taste. Attack on my sensess, making need for more! Awsome!

Tap at Biero. Masterpiece. Aromas of caramel, grass, and alcohol. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Red, with a frothy white head.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2010 Batch 037. Poured from tap by Mario @ Rake, 19th February 2010. A few halfs and a third before the tastings upstairs. This is a very special beer. A huge beer. Something for the unsuspecting consumer market. Malt bomb; caramel, tough doughey yeast, vanilla and dried fruits. An instant shock to the system. I am creaming myself by how good this is. It has to have a bucket full of IBU. An intense amount. I am shocked. This is quality. This is sensational. My sensors were attacked by this beer all night long and I loved every minute of it. Superb. Best Brewdog beer yet. Edit - 16th June 2010. One hell of an ipa which just gets better and better every time it is fresh. Guys, absolute legends for providing this urtterly outstanding drinking experience. I am mad for this beer.

Bottle, thank you Colin and Kendra. Pours a deep orange, nice sized white head. Huge fruity hop aroma plus alcohol. Taste is spectacular - all I could ask for in a over the top yet somehow balanced hop attack - thank you Centennial and Simcoe - two of my favourites - and malt body. Stunningly drinkable yet so flavorfoul - one of the pure tastiest beers I have ever had. This is right up there folks with any double IPA you are likely to have. For me, it might just be the finest.

Aroma: Very syrupy. You can instantly feel its potency, both in alcoohol and hops. Crazy fruity aromas, like strawberries, pineapple, grapefruit, orange marmalade etc. Also a carameley maltiness is present in the background. Mouthfeel: Medium and oily. Taste: Severely bitter and very fruity (see aroma). A certain creamy flavor (strawberry tart?). Just a bit of sweetness underlying. Heavenly stuff. Finish: Long, long bitter finish with syrupy, tropical fruit notes. Overall: Top beer. Not overwhelming, despite its strength and bitterness. That’s my kind of stuff.

Wow. Like a Stone Ruination in a kilt. Had no idea something like this could come from somewhere other than California. Picked this up in Seville in a multipack of several other heavy hitters and really enjoyed it. Wonderful head retention and lacing. Pouts a murky orange in my smitten and smells of sweet fruits and pine and grapefruit. Nice and sweet taste. Full bodied and the ABV is well hidden. Overall an excellent UK craft beer and something I will seek out again.

At its best this is a delightful beer. But it varies dramatically, it seems, between batches. Some are rather malty, others are awfully bitter. But at its best, as was the case with the last one I sampled, this is a scrumptious beer. Hard to predict, then, what it will taste like. Still, it is one of the best bottled British beers I have had.

650 mL bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City. Rusty orange pour with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of tangerines, grapefruit, pine needles, and grass. Flavor is delicious with nearly equal parts bitter pine, bright citrus, and sweet caramel. Slight alcohol warming on the finish. Another stunning DIPA from BrewDog.
