This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But donít feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell.
2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic.
4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more.
9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks.
2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Small off white head. Deep amber body. Spotty lacings inside mug. Powerful scents of resin, citric hops, lemon, roasted malts, resiníish malts. Tastes resin hops, lemon hops, resin juicy malts, roasted malts, ash - warmth comes to palate, the body is powerful, carbonation soft. Long warm finish with resin, ashy roasted malts, lemon hops oil. Overall probably what one may expect from an imperial/dbl-IPA. [33cl brown bottle , 9.2%ab, BB231214]

On tap half-pint in the Birmingham outlet on 17th Sep 2014. Poured a hazy dark orange with an off white head that gave some thin lacing. Aroma of a large fruit basket with caramel and honey notes. Taste was very like the nose: grapefruit, oranges and a sweet malty backbone. Bitter finish with a pine hop feel. Hides the alcohol well.

Drank 21-9-2014 with Masum. Light brown color with a little foam. Bitter IPA smell. Taste is also extremely bitter. Beer is thick for IPA standards. Cocao hints as well. Okay beer, but still too bitter.

Bottle. The hero of all the Spaks, Superspak says, " 11.2 ounce bottle into tulip, best before 7-26-11. Pours hazy dark red-orange color with a huge 3 finger off white head with fantastic retention that eventually reduces to a thin lacing. Aromas of huge pineapple, mango, orange, and pine; with caramel and a some honey. Very nice an balanced aromas, a bit different than I am used to in a DIPA though. Taste of big grapefruit, orange, pine, and spices on the front; with big caramel sweetness afterward. Nice strong bitterness on the finish that lingers for a while with caramel, citrus and pine flavor. Very well balanced bitterness and sweetness with the sweetness being a bit more prominent. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied. No alcohol noticed on taste or finish. Overall a very good and unique imperial IPA."

Bottled sample from Happy Harrys in Grand Forks. Tasted great considering the expiry date was May of 2013. Strong hoppy Imperial IPA

Flaska på Viking Amorella. Dimmig rödbrun vätska. Doftar granskog. Smakar granskog. Bra beska, men något saknas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from... canít remember where (probably between Ä 4,50--5). Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a skyrocketing light creamy head thatís reluctant to drop. Very consistent! Nose is just drop-dead gorgeous... even from a shaker itís intensely citrusy, piney, resiny, musky, biscuity, malty, floral, very pleasingly herbal - itís downright fucking awesome. Taste is very bitter with grapefruit and lemon zest most pronounced, and pine needles and resin right there too. More sweet at first, then in middle-taste the hop bitterness jumps in, accentuating until your palate is nearly sore. Body unexpectedly light (although still mediumish), carbonation flat, palate oily and slightly sticky. Not a hint of its 9,2% ABV, except for near the end when the throat feels a very pleasing warmth... Itís a beer that I never get tired of, itís such a treat.

Aroma: pine and resin, citrus notes. Appearance: nice hazy a,ber color, poor white head. Taste: medium bitterness !! (pine and resin), there is some malty backbone, light citrus notes, watery. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: Where is 150 IBU ? What a joke !
