COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered. Cask: Unfiltered.
Also sold as Tesco Finest American Double IPA
Ingredients: Maris Otter, Crystal malt, Caramalt; Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe hops. Dry Hops: Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe. IBU 150
This little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 6 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. This explicit ale has more hops and bitterness that any other beer brewed in the UK. This is an extreme beer rollercoaster for freaks, gypsies and international chess superstars.

Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

jhamp9 (161) - Texas, USA - FEB 9, 2012
Pours a hazy dark orange with a nice pale yellow head and good lacing. Big aroma of mango, orange zest, and a little floral. Taste is citrus, pine, mango, grass, and good maltiness comes through. Really nice bitterness. This is very good.

Barrelbelly (317) - BELGIUM - FEB 9, 2012
Dark reddish shine, large head. Aroma quite flowery with some grainy bitter hops. Taste has lots of flower hops, grains, oats and bitter finish. A bit watery at te end. Might also be because the bottle was already a half year overdue. Still quite nice though.

Poured medium orange with a creamy, beige head. Aroma of grapefruit and caramel malts.. Raisins too. Well balanced. Flafor of burnes bread with bitterness and citrys hoppy. Warm. SWELL!

Ferfie (170) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 6, 2012
Pours a deep amber, verging on brown, with an off-white head of tight foam. NO mistaking the hops in the smell here. Tons of tropical fruit: Mango, tangerine, Grapefruit, some pine, and while you can smell a lot of hop aroma (and even bitterness?), the malt is wonderfully present as well. It’s a soft caramel that lingers in the back, and provides a little depth. No alcohol present, but the aroma from hops is so huge, that it might just be layered upon. Taste is pretty huge too. Pineapple, grapefruit – pith and juice – light orange, some resinous sap, bitterness moves in quite prominently but not overwhelmingly. Then the malt makes its way in, considering it’s a caramel taste, it’s quite subtle, just evens everything out. No alcohol, either in warmth or sharpness. Mouth feel is medium, with a really nice tingly carbonation. Great flavour progression, delicious balance of hop aromas.

hiomo (58) - Castellalto, ITALY - FEB 5, 2012

unstablefable (18) - SCOTLAND - FEB 5, 2012
Pours a hazy brown with a large tan head, aroma of heavy caramel, treacle with the promise of piney citris tones. Initial sweet caramel flavour, burnt toast makes an appearance with a rather unbalanced bitter finish.

Bosskie (213) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 5, 2012
Copper red colour beer with a weak head and a transparent almost luminescent appearance. No carbonation. The smell is bitter sweet lichees or strawberries mixed with grapefruits, with some saltiness. The taste is mainly bitter with a subtle refreshing sweetness. Very dry and bitter in the finish which evolves into a flowery, hayish bitterness. Like biting into a grapefruit but then without the sickening acidness. Well balanced delicious beer. Somewhat flat in the sense of variety.

33cl bottle shared by Benzai. Hazy red / brown / amber color, white head. Strong aroma of malts, hops and pine. Taste a lot of hops and bitter. Great mouthfeel, perfect suitable carbonation and ABV.
