Jonte (370), Gothenburg, Sweden Jun 19, 2008 Updated: Jul 21, 2008 Bottle. Golden color with a white head. Hoppy and very sweet aroma with notes of citrus, butter, diacetyl, toffee, grain and sweet fruits. Taste of hops, citrus, butter, toffee, almonds, alcohol, and sweet fruit. Too much diacetyl and sugary sweetness. Not very balanced.
JPDIPSO (4221), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 27, 2008 Weak looking pour with a thin, somewhat wispy head of white bubbles. Lightly hazed light cider appearance. Some citric cedar scents. A touch of malt in the backdrop that reminds me of golden promise. Big citric start with a mix of pulp, pith and zest. Flavors of very light caramel and then a bit of cedar kick in. A bit lifeless and cloying in feel, but the zest help clean things up a touch. Some fruit, including pear and apricot in the middle. Finish has a light citric kick, in a key lime kind of way. I’m not catching the 9%. For me it lacks some depth and is much to citric in flavor without the bitterness to pull it out. Madsnp (112), Odense C, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden with a creamy white head. Aromas og caramel, peach, mango and citrus. Hoppy flavour of lemon, pine and herbs. Not that hardcore.. Plimmer (240), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 22, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Slightly hazy golden body with a small fast white head. Sweet hops in the nose along with some citric notes. Full fat sweet body dominated by hops and sweet notes. Very bitter hoppy finish with clear trances of the high percentage (alcohol). Nice beer but maby a bit too much for my untrained mouth. juiceisloose (307), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2008 Courtesy growler. Pours a pale, golden orange color with a small white head. The aroma shows citrus hops, some floral characters, and a lot of lemon zest to go with the toast, caramel malt backbone. The flavor is crisp with a lot of lemon flavor, spicy floral character, and a good amount of hop bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation and a long bitter finish. This is pretty good and an interesting take on the style, but not in the same league as the better IIPA’s that are around. Beershine (1214), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2008 Clear, medium-gold, not much head. Hopped-up nose, lots of orange and lemon. Quaffable palate, smooth but strong. Hot and smooth at same time. Very good.
