COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: made for the Danish beer importer "Drikkeriget".

Bottled. Slight hazy amber color, medium off-white head. Aroma of flowery hops, bit grassy, slight citrus, reminding me of pure amarillo or cascade flowers which I used myself in a homebrew, before boiled with the beer. Nice thick creamy texture. Decent bitter taste, quite dry. Bit sweetish note to it, firm pale malt body, bit cookie and candy sweetness. Very malty. Especially flavor and mouthfeel speak out on this IPA, a style that usually tends to be more watery and focused on hopbitterness.

Aroma is sweet and fruity with american hops and some caramel. Flavour is sweet with hops, fruits, caramel and some biscuits. Rather typical American IPA and way too sweet for me.

Really hard to read notes: Malty IPA, pines, harsh, dark hops, malty caramel hoppy backbone.

Grima (1572) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - OCT 23, 2011
Orange-brown color, slightly cloudy with a high, fine head. The smell is mildly hoppy, very citrusy and fruity, storng spicy. Starts with bombastic hop aroma, pleasantly tart, fruity citrus notes in background. The middle part shows hoppy-mild, slightly yeasty and sweet, again very spicy with citrus aromas. Goes into a very dry and bitter finish, coupled with a subtle fruitiness and a slight herbal note!

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Lightly hazy pale amber, brief coarse head. Sweaty bitter orange aroma. Mid sweetwith clean, hard mouthfeel. Crystal malt and sweaty hay. Some metal before a rather harsh bitter finish. Rough.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Dark amber colour with lasting, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with orange peel, caramel and dried apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, orange peel and a generous earthy, citrussy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with balanced sweetness. Very nice and tasty.

Dirty blonde and hazy. Mango/melon aroma with some light chewy elements, maybe some biscuits. Thick malts and tropical fruits. Rather muted and vague, with lots of bitterness and lots of maltiness too but neither really comes together all that well.

I was a little disappointed by this beer. It’s still good and I’d certainly drink it again when I have the opportunity, but still I had higher expectations. Nice IPA but not much more.
