Best. Brewdog. Beer. Ever. At least, in terms of something you’d go back and drink again, and again. Pours a lovely golden yellow, with frothy, lasting white head. Aroma is all melon and psychedelia. Taste is pure fruit goodness, with hops a strong second. Any malty backbone to the beer is kinda lost, but I rate Schneiderwiesse’s Hopfenweisse very highly, and this beer is similar. Full mouthfeel, long bitter finish. Good work.

33cl bottle - only a couple of weeks old. Hazy orange pour with thin white head. Aroma packs in loads of lovely ripe tropical fruit: mango, passionfruit, pineapple, as well as some floral notes and a definite deep berry hint. Taste gives all kinds of tropical goodness, some light limey citrus, juicy red apples, a touch of sweet malt, and some ever-so-slightly sour berry. Subtle hint of booze warmth. Medium bodied, slightly oily mouthfeel. Lingering tropical and lime bitterness, as well as a tartness that stays on the palate. This is an absolutely first-class DIPA, especially in this wonderfully fresh condition: my favourite BrewDog beer by a long shot.

Pours lightly hazy copper with off-white head. Aroma of pine, grass, citrus and even light cloudberries! Taste is a nice blend of sweetness and refreshing bitterness. Sweet cloudberry finish with just a light bitterness to keep it interesting. Body is light and oily with low carbonation.

Feb 2013 – coldish bottlle. Big head. Sweet, pretty bitter, mid body, can taste a bit of alcohol. Not bad, but not one to rush back to either.

On tap at Barcelona Beer Festival 2013. Small Pint (20cl). Pours an orange/amber colour with white frothy head. Floral aroma, citrus, herbs and earth. Taste is lemony, malty, tropical fruits and hints of pine. Moderate bitterness and quite sweet, light compared to other Imperial Double IPAs. Nothing wrong with it, actually it’s pretty tasty. Medium body, average carbonation.Nice.
